  1. I agree with the Lakers and Boston being the top seeds in each conference. However, I am not sure that the Heat will make the playoffs because they don't have a point guard or a center and Wade is extremely injury prone.

  2. Utah will not stand for going out in the first round like the Rockets always do....no way.

    1. Girl! What the heck are you smoking? I understand you like the jazz but there is no reason to be crazy at the same time. If Utah win anything it will be a early trip home

    2. why am I crazy?? The Jazz are an excellent team that can beat almost every team in a playoff series in the west, I might be a little Jazz crazy, but I would rather be this than ignorant....get a clue

  3. New Orleans will lose to Utah in the WCF.....no Lakers in the finals, you heard it here first...

  4. I'm going to save this link and come back at the end of the season. Why, well because all of you blogers and so called experts have had Mavs winning less then 50 games for the past 5 seasons, and i'm still waiting for them to crumble and disapear from the western conferance playoffs. Bottom line, as long as Dirk is on this team, there is no way Mavs will be this low, and get swept by the Lakers, imposible. Last year was one year where Mavs didn't finish in the top 4, for some time now, and a lot of things had to do with it. Number one, this team stopped responding to Avery, 2-Kidd was aquired in mid season......I'm not saying Mavs will win it all, but year in and year out, experts come out and put this team in the bottom standings, and mavs just keep wining 50+ games...............

    1. Whoop! I totally agree! Everyone is underestimating the Mavs!

And to say that they will get swept is insane. Even if Kidd doesn't have "it" he wouldn't allow that.

I'm telling everyone right now...this season is gonna be different. Rick Carlisle's gonna let J-Kidd do his thing and have more motion-based offenses and the Mavs are gonna smash

    2. Mavs are a good team. Dirk is still a great player. But Kidd is at the end of his career, he is not the same player that he was. I think that the Lakers will sweep the Mavs in the playoffs if they play each other in the playoffs

  5. The 76ers 5th in the East???

    1. Yah...they got Elton Brand now!

  6. Is this last year results, they look awfully familiar?

Look for the magic to do better in the playoffs. This team is only getting better, they just can't beat the pistions. They also added Pietrus from Golden State. Also, the Pistions have to fall sometime, this may be the year. They may finish lower than 2nd.

The two most overhyped teams are the 76ers and Portland. They have not done anything put they are the popular pick for everyone.

    1. Yea they do look similar. No dramatic changes except for the heat making the playoffs.

How do you think that the 76ers and Portland are overhyped? When the 76ers just added Elton Brand and Oden coming back for the Portland. But if Oden gets injured the Blazers wont smell the playoffs. But I think that Oden will come back healthy this season and play at a high level.

  7. 76'ers no worse than 4th in the East barring injuries. Far from overhyped.

  8. MVP! MVP! MVP!

  9. Your analysis is based so much on last season's performance that I thought this was the standings from last season. When the trades, drafts, aging, etc. are put into play, I THINK the playoffs will go more like this...

Eastern Conference Semi-finals (in random order)
    1. Cleveland
    2. Orlando
    3. Boston
    4. Detroit, Washington, or Toronto

Western Conference Semi-finals (in random order)
    1. Los Angeles L
    2. Utah
    3. New Orleans
    4. San Antonio, Houston (yes, Rockets in 2nd round), or Los Angeles C

  10. Wilvin, you have no idea about basketball. The Cavs and the Magic ahead of the Celtics? What is wrong with you? The Magic will be far behind the Celtics and the Cavs will come close, but not be better than them. Utah will not be the second seed and the Clippers won't come close to the playoffs, yet alone the top 4 in the mighty Western Conference. With Brand, that still would have been hard.

    1. At least he had some balls not to basically put last season standings up there.

Have you watched Utah? They are very good and somewhat young. It's a very real posibility that they will make a number two seed.

You actually think the Cavs are better than the magic. Not in the regular season buddy.

  11. Celtics and Suns Final.

    1. I wish, but no.

  12. k 76ers are overhyped they arent a 2nd round team until they sign some shooters and someone (big man or versitile shooter) to come off the bench the raptors are the same as the sixers if u take away their bench shooters when u aquire a big man it always opens up spots for shooters on your team raptors have shooters who can do that(jose caledron, anthony parker, jason kapono, bargnani, and moon at times) sixers have andre ig, donyell marshall (who is a forward) and t young i mean those arent many shooters andre ig is problely the most consistent shooter but they need to sign athletic shooters not big men shooters (donyell marshall) if they do this they will be in the race for 4th spot with toronto and cleveland if they dont u can count them at sixth spot

  13. Portland is overhyped because they haven't done anything. When is the last time they had a winning season? Never made the playoffs with their current roster and everyone is really excited about this team. Remember the west is tough. Also, Oden hasn't played an NBA game and no one knows how well he's going to do. He wont be averaging 20 and 10 this year or even 15 and 10. Lets not forget he's a rookie and other players on that roster have already established themselves as scorers.

Philly will probably make the playoffs but Orlando is better. Dwight is a much better rebounder than Brand and he'll have help this year with Tony Battie. That allows Rashard Lewis to go back to his natural position on the peremiter. Now Turk and Lewis can play offense without having to worry about guarding to other teams best player, because that's pietrus' job now.

  14. Your final three spots for the west are questionable. One team you left out of the picture is the Clippers. They are more than capable of finishing with a better seed than Portland, Phoenix or Dallas. Sure, they did lose EB but in the end they gained more talent than they lost. To leave them out of the top eight is obsurd. If they stay healthy and have good chemistry they could be as high as a five seed in the competitive western conference.

    1. Are you kidding me? the Clippers? They have no chance to make the playoffs in the mighty western conference. If they still had brand, then that is a different story. They dont have brand anymore so therefore they have no shot of making the playoffs.

    2. There's no way the Clippers are better than Phoenix or Dallas. Portland maybe. And I agree with c, Cleveland is not better than Toronto or Orlando.

  15. clevland ahead of toronto or orlando? Uh no. What significant move did clevland even make this year?

    1. What significant move did the Cavs make? They traded for Mo Williams who is a top 10 PG.

  16. Go LAKERS! the lakers are going to be a great team!

  17. The Cavs are way better than the Raptors and slightly better than the Magic. They traded for Mo Williams, who will be a very good sidekick next to Lebron. They have a good all around team and the best player in the East. The Magic have three very good players and no one else and the Raptors have two injury prone big men, a good point guard and no one else.
