We now know that the Rock is back, but that doesn’t mean that his returned cleared anything up about the road to Wrestlemania. After all, we still don’t know who’s coming back on Monday (hint: it may not be who they want you to think that it is). We don’t know just what the Rock’s involvement in Wrestlemania is going to be (you don’t think he’s coming just to cut promos, do you?). And we have yet to hear about Triple H.

There are plenty of questions left to answer.

Why is R-Truth in the Elimination Chamber?

Do we know who the Raw GM is?

Will we see Rock again before 'Mania?

There’s been a lot of questions left to answer after Rock’s return.

I’m going to help you make sense of all of this. So stay right here and get caught up on all this week’s WWE news.

Undertaker: Is the Deadman in the Raw Promos?

Taker_display_image

Undertaker might not be showing up where we expect him to.

So the Wrestling world is convinced that the 2/21/11 promos are for the Undertaker. If you watched the promo on Monday night they made it pretty clear that it was the Undertaker, but don’t be too sure that it was.

Remember we they teased the host of Wrestlemania? We were treated to a shot of a woman getting out of a limo. We could only see her shoes, and were left to wonder who it was. However, it turned out that the teaser was a complete fake. Instead we got the Rock. That’s all anyone cared about once it happened.

All I’m saying is don’t be sold that it’s the Undertaker because the WWE has a way of taking you in one direction and then hitting you with a curveball.

Try this on for size: the promo is for Triple H. Undertaker doesn’t show up at the Elimination Chamber, doesn’t show up on Raw. Instead Triple H shows up and calls out the Deadman. He gives him some song and dance about needing to end the streak and avenge the loss of Shawn Michaels.

Remember that this streak is a huge selling point for 'Mania. Undertaker is saved the last few years just for this. He needs a top level opponent. Getting Triple H would be a great way for both of these guys to be relevant for the big match, and do it quickly. The buzz for Triple H and Taker would be much bigger than Kane vs. 'Taker or Triple H vs. Sheamus would. It’s not a lock, but don’t be surprised if they save the Deadman for a couple more weeks.

Dwayne Johnson: How Does His Return Impact John Cena at Wrestlemania?

Therock_display_image

Has the Rock sealed John Cena’s fate for Wrestlemania and the Elimination Chamber?

So several wrestling sources, like Wrestlezone and Pro Wrestling Insider, are saying that the Rock will not wrestle at Wrestlemania. There are many who believe that the ship has sailed for the Rock to wrestle again.

So if we know this, then what does that mean for Cena? After all, this is the match that everyone is now dying to see. However, if the Rock is not wrestling then where does he get involved? The hot idea right now is that the Rock is going to referee the match between The Miz and John Cena at Wrestlemania.

Of course if that is going to be the match then it means that Cena has to win the Elimination Chamber. This also makes sense since Cena already said he would. He has this nasty habit of telling the world he’s going to win something and then doing it. In the world of non-scripted sports it’s impressive, but in entertainment it’s called a spoiler.

So if Cena is going to win the Elimination Chamber, then we can expect that Orton or CM Punk will be screwed by the other one. This leaves Shaemus and John Morrison to generate some heat if they are going to pick up their feud again for Wrestlemania.

Then that leaves us with the pointless R-Truth. I like the guy and I like his gimmick, but why is he in there? He can’t win the Elimination Chamber. If Morrison has no chance, Shaemus has less chance than that. This is where it’s a perfect opportunity for Triple H to take R-Truth’s place (this is assuming the Undertaker is really the guy behind the promos).

WWE News: What’s The Latest On Sting's TNA/WWE Status?

Stingers_display_image

Has the TNA website reveled his true status with the company?

The TNA website has removed Sting from their site. This is an early indication that he is no longer with the company and that the talks have broke down to bring him back.

Either that or it’s the swerve the TNA executives want to do to make everyone think he’s coming back. It’s a typical wrestling move. Why anyone bothers to consult the website of a major wrestling promotion is beyond me. Wrestling companies and wrestlers are that couple that keeps breaking up and swearing it’s over and then getting right back together. You can’t trust them.

So where does this leave Sting and the WWE? No one knows for sure, but you have to assume that this is the last time that Sting and WWE can do this song and dance. He has always hung his hat on the fact that he has never wrestled a day in the WWE so unless he needs the payday (which if I haven’t heard he’s hard up for cash) I’m guessing that Sting isn’t really interested and is just using this to squeeze a little more money out of TNA.

If he does come to the WWE, he’s going to go against the Undertaker because you don’t bring Sting in to take on Mark Henry. I think the WWE isn’t saying anything because the buzz, whether it’s true or not, is good for the overall product. But you can expect to see a lot of surprises before Wrestlemania, but seeing Sting in the WWE is not going to be one of them.

WWE News: Who Is the Anonymous Raw GM?

Rawgm_display_image

Could we be finding out the GM soon enough?

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the anonymous GM for Raw was originally going to be revealed as Triple H.

Let’s all pray this isn’t the case. What a terrible idea. You spend years building up Triple H as the kind of guy who never hides behind anything. Even when he was a heel he was one of the more confrontational heels in the company’s history. Then you’d make him the kind of guy who hid behind a computer and Michael Cole.

What a terrible idea. I think I understand the inner workings of the WWE. Someone suggests a cool premise, but doesn’t have the faintest clue how to make a pay off for it, then someone like Vince McMahon says “Eh, it’s cool. We’ll figure it out later.”

Remember they did the same thing with Nexus. The Nexus kept talking about how they were doing this all for a higher purpose, but then never revealed what that purpose was. It makes me nervous as a fan because it reminds me of the same thing WCW was doing as it was heading into the toilet at the end. They would start and tease storylines that would never amount to anything.

If they are bringing Triple H back then they need to let him fight Shaemus, have him go after the Undertaker, but don’t make him the Raw GM. That’s just a bad idea, and it’s something they should have had a better plan for the idea in the first place.

WWE News: When Will We See the Rock Again?

Rockyrocky_display_image

Is the Great One done til 'Mania?

Now that the Rock is back, we have to start thinking about how much involvement he is going to have with the WWE prior to 'Mania.

There isn’t a lot of information about The Rock’s contract out there. But we do have some things to go off of. Assuming he’s fighting Cena at Wrestlemania ,(which is doubtful) he’d need to appear at least two or three more times in order to build for that.

Remember that reports were coming out on all the wrestling dirt sheets that said Lesnar was trying to get the UFC to give him a chance to go fight at Wrestlemania. In that contract he would have had to make two Raw appearances.

So if that’s the bar, let’s just assume McMahon wasn’t wasting Rock’s only Raw appearance more than five weeks away from the pay-per-view. I’m betting right now that the Rock is back in about three weeks. They’ll let the promo reveal on the 21st highlight that show. Then as the feud builds between the Miz and Cena, the Rock comes back to raise the steaks.

The key here is that you need to keep Cena a face for the build up. The Rock has already done a good job of making Cena look a little heel-ish (yes I made up that word) and so having him come in too early could destroy the good/evil thing the WWE likes to have for their main event.

So you can bet we’ll see Rock before 'Mania, but I wouldn’t count on seeing him much.

Did WWE's Tough Enough Just Get A Little Star Power?

Rima_display_image

Has the USA Network show just got an upgrade in the looks department?

It would appear that another contestant has signed on to do USA’s rebirth of the reality show Tough Enough. This one knows a thing or two about competition.

The WWE got Miss USA Rima Fakih to sign up for their show. She’ll be competing against an undetermined amount of other contestants for a chance at a WWE contract.

I, for one, have really mixed feelings on the show as whole.

First we have the problem with a guy winning at all. It feels like in that locker room, those guys will never be accepting of a wrestler who won a contest to get to the WWE. It’s not like NXT were these guys are all in the development league. It’s like a back door into the WWE.

If a woman wins then you have the issue of the majority of your audience not caring.

So where is the benefit? I suppose the benefit is in the show itself, and to watch Stone Cold Steve Austin yell at people. Still, I’m wondering how good this show will really be?

Although getting a beauty queen is never a bad thing. Having Rima helps because attractive people always help a show. Still, I’m saying that this show is a flop overall. There’s a reason why it didn’t work last time. This time will be no different.

Is the Miz Heading In a New Direction?

Themiz_display_image

Could The Rock Be Giving The Miz a “Face” Lift?

It’s clear that the Rock took his shots at the Miz during his promo on Raw, but you have to consider the possibility that the Rock will be instrumental in the Miz going face.

Over the last year or so the Internet wrestling sites have been reporting talks on the WWE creative side about when and how to make Cena a heel. It’s clear after Monday nights promo, that the Rock holds the key to both.

One of my readers, The Major Source, suggested the same thing and I’m inclined to agree. If you are going to make Cena go heel, then it’s clear the Rock is the key. Here’s how you do it.

You have to make Miz’s match at the Elimination Chamber with Jerry “The King” Lawler a pretty fair contest and have Miz earn genuine respect for the King.

Then you have to let the feud between the Rock and Cena start to culminate. It’s clear the people have the Rock’s side in this. So as Cena begins to see that he can start to turn his frustration to the people for ditching him.

This whole progression can be very fluid. Then if Cena wins the belt at Wrestlemania he could turn his attention to the Rock, deliver a beat down and set up one last match at SummerSlam or somewhere like that. This would also allow the Rock, who has no interest in ever coming back full time, to go away for a while, then come back.

You’re welcome WWE…I just booked your major story for the next four or five months.
