NBA Slam Dunk Contest 2011: Event Info, Dunk Highlights, and More

Blake Griffin is set to go up against Demar DeRozan in my hypothetical final round of the dunk contest.

With his first dunk, Griffin will probably try one of the fan entry dunks, maybe not something as crazy as roller skating or pogo sticking to the hoop, but something creative nonetheless, so top marks are quite likely.

DeRozan's first dunk should include him trying something a bit ridiculous himself, as to try to wash the stink of a loss from last year's dunk contest off himself. This will be a dunk that if he hits it, it would be a 50 if judges were scoring, if not we will be left thinking, “what if,” and he will put down his emergency dunk which would get a high 30s score from judges.

Griffin's second will be contingent on what happens in DeRozan's first. If he gets a high score, then Griffin will probably swing for the fences, if not, he'll work the count and hit a little opposite field single and take home his crown.

Both of DeRozan's dunk attempts I feel will have the possiblity of being spectacular. His second one should be nothing short of phenomenal, as he has to go up against a fan-favorite, and the only way he can beat him in a fan voting is absolutely dominating the final round.

In the end I think that DeRozan will try to do too much, and “Russian-Crushin” Blake Griffin will go home with the crown.
