Jeremiah Coggins No.16
Skip Holtz took great notes from his pop apparently, as he's building his stepping stone to a major program QUICKLY! Look for Holtz to land a position with a real program within in the next 18 months. However this program is set up with talent for the next year or two, and they'll be alright under Holtz' direction. They lost to NC State, and hey it happens, but look for them to be alright as the year continues.
John O'Dell No.17
The Pirates made a powerful statement by knocking off Virginia Tech and West Virginia. A heartbreaking OT loss to NC State has deflated ECU's hopes for a BCS bid but it has not changed the fact that Skip Holtz has his team rolling in the right direction. With two upset notches in their belts already, Virginia could certainly become the third.

I'm not convinced they're that good. They had a couple good games but they're probably a 3 loss team.

The Pirates were upset by NC State in overtime, but won’t have trouble against Houston at home.

The clock struck midnight a little early for Cinderella, but the Pirates are just as good as they were before the NC State loss.

Don't count them out just yet. This is a good football team.

Even if the spawn of all that is retarded in college football is their coach, was pulling for a undefeated season to shake things up in the BCS with 2+ top 10 non-BCS schools.
BeachBum Chris No.23
Loss to NC State stings. Houston Cougars will pay for it this weekend.
Adam Lindemer No.23
A tough loss to NC State last week, but still have the fire power to stay in the Top 25 another week.
Jayson Stock No.23
Well a small slip up this past weekend against a wolfpakc team they should have beaten.

These Pirates are angry after losing to NC State.

The Pirates choked last week against NC State. Clearly they'll still win the Conference USA but they need one more really good win to convince people they will be worthy of a good bowl game, they play Virginia TBA.
Michael Shibley No.24
Pirates may be out of the BCS race, but they are still the team to beat right now in Conference USA.
Ron Johnson No.24
The Pirates started out strong, but a shocking loss to NC State has them trying to regain the momentum that they lost in overtime.
Jesse Monday No.24
NC State? Really?
Michael Lemaire No.24
Nate Stafford No.24
Tough loss at Raleigh last week, but this is still a pretty good football team and Skip Holtz is still one heck of a coach. They get a struggling Houston team this week before getting a much needed week off. We'll see if the Pirates can rebound after that tough defeat.

Tough loss for the Pirates last week, but can still do a lot with this season.
Toby Parker No.25
I didn't know if I should put Vandy here or ECU here but I'll give the Pirates the nod here because I think they would beat Vandy if they played this weekend.

(previous: 11) The Cinderella story may be over in terms of a BCS berth, but the Pirates are still a quality team. Losing on the road to N.C. State in OT means a drop, but still worthy of being ranked ahead of Florida State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Illinois... 6th-highest ranked team with a defeat (3-1).
Jason Hackney No.25
Wins over VT and WV aren't looking as impressive anymore. Losing to NC State? Losing their grip on top 25.
