WWE Needs To Keep The Rock Away from The Miz Until WrestleMania

The Rock

The Rock might be the greatest wrestler of all time. However, he's not like the other great ones, because he cannot elevate others.

Ric Flair elevated every opponent because he was a classic heel character. Fans would wildly root for every challenger because they wanted to see Flair lose the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Even tag team wrestlers like Ricky Morton, Road Warrior Hawk and Bobby Eaton were able to headline shows because of the gimmick that Flair had.

Hulk Hogan elevated others because of the character that he played and the storyline that Vince McMahon produced for him. He was the hero that everyone rooted for. With that, McMahon was able to build up heel challenger after heel challenger. Paul Orndorff, Roddy Piper, King Kong Bundy and others became bigger stars after being in the main event with Hogan.

The Rock, however, can't do what these two did.

It's not by any fault of his own, though.

The Rock's character is larger than life. Very few have reached the level of entertainment that he has. In fact, his character is so entertaining that he overwhelms everyone that is near him. No one can match his greatness out there.

The Miz has done a tremendous job of running with the ball. He's on the same level as Chris Jericho, CM Punk and Edge when it comes to working the microphone.

As good as those guys are, though, they're all a level below the Rock.

That's why the Miz needs to be kept away from the Rock.
