Irina Shayk will be on the cover of the only must-buy issue of Sports Illustrated. The already hot issue gets some extra heat, and I couldn't be any more pleased. 

Leryn Franco also struts her stuff in the issue. She has dropped the javelin and picked up the bikini. That is a very good thing my friends. 

We also have some huge news from the world of WWE. The Rock is back. Well, sort of. He will host WrestleMania this year. As long as he doesn't make any more movies he should be successful. 

I have the skinny on all the hot news that is hitting the ports world. Brooklyn Decker, Irina Shayk and Leryn Franco someone pinch me because this day is getting a little too sexy.

Well that cat jumped out of the bag fairly quickly. What was supposed to be revealed on the Late Show With David Letterman will instead be an understood fact by air time tonight. The much heralded title of SI cover-girl will go to none other than Irina Shayk. 

Irina is the current girlfriend of soccer wunderkind Cristiano Ronaldo. The news came quickly as Twitter author Rana Wardlaw snapped off a billboard sized photo of the upcoming cover. The tweet and photo can be seen here.

Many might have thought that Brooklyn Decker was a shoe in for the title. She has a new movie out with Adam Sandler entitle 'Just Go With It' and seems to be the latest model to move her talents to Hollywood.

Sports Illustrated have chosen wisely. Seeing the very gorgeous Shayk on the cover will sell millions of issues. She is sexy with enough sophistication to warrant the weight of such a publication.

Shayk will join a bevy of other stars within the issue. Decker will of course be involved as well as Julie Henderson and Hilary Rhoda. This could be one of the best swimsuit issues in recent memory. 

The only way the foul this up is if they re-introduce 3D within the pages. I may not be a smart man, but I think it is counterproductive to annoy your viewers while they are trying to ogle hot women.

In 1964, Sports Illustrated wanted to solve the problems they were having selling issues during the Winter dead months in sports. They struck gold with the Swimsuit issue. 

Women were photographed in far-off tropical locales. Their names accompanied their photo spreads launching them into celebrity status. Thus, the swimsuit issue and its ramifications were born. 

Every sports fan knows the feeling when the revelation that this year's issue has hit newsstands. It mandates a rather brisk jog to ensure you have a copy before they sellout. But I ask, are those days dead?

In some ways, yes, they are. Depending on how you see the world, the Internet has either changed or ruined everything. There is no other option but the two. The web has altered the fabric of our most prized SI issue.

Every single woman in the magazine can be seen for free online. Even the revelation of the cover-girl is no longer news. We found out a day early that Irina Shayk would grace the cover.

So the swimsuit issue may no longer be the shocking issue that we need to have, but it still has merit. It is a barometer of success. Swimsuit models and hot celebrity women are in constant touch with the sports world.

The lady that finds herself on the cover can consider herself the "it" girl of the hear and now. So, the Swimsuit Issue may not be revolutionary. It may not even be all that popular, but it still matters.

As long as men enjoy taking a gander at a pretty girl, the Swimsuit Issue has a place.

The world of sports and hot women are inextricably linked. Some may scream for a delineation but it is useless. Wherever there is a man that wants to find a sports score, there will be a wish to also see a woman in a tight outfit. 

That is where women like Leryn Franco enter. They are the best of both worlds. A world renowned athlete as well as a model. Franco is a Paraguayan javelin thrower and a model for Sports Illustrated's upcoming swimsuit issue. 

As you can see, there is a lot to like about Franco. She is that perfect blend of beauty and sports relevancy we all crave. 

She has been on Bleacher Report's radar since her third place finish at the South American Games in 2007. She took the number one slot in the 2010 Bleacher Report article The 100 Hottest Athletes Of All Time. It is fitting that we take time to note an athlete that makes the switch from sport to modeling. 

Many models have taken to the big screen of Hollywood films, but few athletes are noted when they successfully drop the cleats and show their chops in front of the camera. 

Franco is one athlete that is destined for stardom. She has the look that make men drool. The good news is that we can expect many more spreads from the young lady. The issue of Sports Illustrated will be just the beginning.

Can you smell what The Rock is cooking? If so, you are already aware of the big news to hit the WWE. The legendary professional wrestler will head back to the organization where he began his fame. 

Dwayne Johnson will be back within the WWE fold, at least for a night. The Rock will once again be at WrestleMania XXVII, though his capacity will be that of host.

The WWE has released this video to introduce the news. I have to say, this is the most entertaining acting job Dwayne Johnson has done in some time. I never saw The Tooth Fairy, but I hear his performance was a bit too nuanced for some fans.  

The news has wrestling fans wondering, what took so long? It has been seven grueling years since the WWE has had The Rock at its side. 

It is yet unclear how involved Dwayne Johnson will be. He has gone a long way to distance himself from his professional wrestling persona. In 2006, he dropped the moniker that made him famous. 

If he does take to WrestleMania, he would be better served engaging the fans with the full accompaniment of his alter ego. There is nothing half-hearted about the WWE. It would be a shame to see this former legendary wrestler host the event as simply Dwayne Johnson. 

No, if you are going to be at the event, make sure the character we all love is there as well. Nobody wants to see Dwayne Johnson. They want to see The Rock. So make it happen.

After that, please never make a movie that mandates a cheesy tag line like, You can't handle the tooth. If you do that, we will be just fine.

The coolest celebrity alive keeps to himself in upstate New York. Bill Murray is content to hole up in his home and stay far away from the bright lights and glitz that follow a star of his magnitude.

There are however, certain events that Murray will not miss. The Pebble Beach Pro-Am is one of them. He never misses the tournament. 

For him and many other celebrities, it is a welcome respite from the doldrums of Hollywood. For a weekend, they get to participate in a PGA Tour event as if they were real athletes.

You can trust that the passion and dedication usually attributed to athletes is present in these celebrities. They want to win the weekend in Pebble Beach. Sure it is a fun-filled venture. But beneath the laughs and guffaws lies the determination to win.

Murray just finished off a magical weekend he will treasure for a lifetime. He finally captured the Pro-Am victory alongside pro-golfer D.A. Points.  

It warms the cockles of my heart to no end, or as much as my cockles could be warmed my such a feat. Murray is quite possibly the coolest human being I have never met. 

The stories that surround him are legendary. He is painted as a man that loves to have a good time and would just like to be left alone when it is time to go back to his abode in New York. 

It is always nice to see one of your boyhood heroes capture something that has alluded them for far too long. With a victory in the bag, he just has to worry about bringing the funny next year. 

That should not be a problem for a man of his comedic pedigree.

There are certain things in the sports world that just are. The Yankees will always be relevant. The Lakers will always present themselves in the playoffs as a contender.

Floyd Mayweather will continue to fight boxers that barely know how to put on gloves, and Brooklyn Decker will continue to be the reason I pick up the latest Sport's Illustrated swimsuit edition. 

The good people at Sports Illustrated have released the lineup of the upcoming spread. It is a time that I find more exciting than the list of Pro Bowl participants. Let's be honest, more people view the pages of SI than they do the Pro Bowl. 

The list will include Brooklyn Decker and the following ladies: Alyssa Miller, Hilary Rhoda, Julie Henderson, Cintia Dicker, Kenza Fourati, Damaris Lewis, Jessica White, Jessica Gomes, Izabel Goulart, Esti Ginzburg, Irina Shayk, Shannan Click, Anne Vyalitsina, Chrissy Teigen, Kate Upton and Genevieve Morton.

I am loving the list so far. Hilary Rhoda and Julie Henderson could carry an issue on their own. The cover of the magazine will be introduced on The Late Show With David Letterman on Monday February 14th. 

Yes, folks that is today. So for all you sports watchers out there that may have issue with hot women and pop culture eking its way into the sports world, just know that is started a long time ago with the advent of Sports Illustrated's most popular edition. 

There is no getting around it. Sports are fantastic, but nothing beats hot women.

The Oakland A's are renowned as the most frugal franchise in the Majors. They are known to trade away high-priced talent in exchange for inexpensive minor league talent that they groom in the big leagues. There is nothing wrong with the tactic. 

It is actually a maneuver that most teams try to emulate for its effectiveness, but the team has gone too far to save money at the concession stands.

Athletics Nation broke news with a video that the more expensive sized beer at their concession stands holds roughly the same amount as their less expensive version. 

It is a deplorable act that I hope is nothing more than a mistake and not a money making scheme. The fact is beer is already grossly over-priced as it is. The hope is that you are actually getting more beer when you pony up close to ten bucks for a large domestic.

Sure I can get a six-pack on the outside for the same amount. I understand that is the price I pay for wanting to get a nice little buzz as I watch my favorite team toil away for nine innings in July.

I think we all would like to trust that we are actually getting more beer than the "small" size. I have graced the Oakland Coliseum with my presence before. I have even taken part in the debacle that is "dollar hot dog nights" there.

I can live with the drab surroundings. I can handle the confines of one of the worst stadiums in all of baseball. Just don't lie to me.

Now you wonder why fans get ripped before entering the game. Maybe if you offered real value on beer, we would actually buy some at the stands.

This story just killed my buzz for the season.

But we can put that question to bed. Jessica is back and hotter than ever. She will strut her stuff in the upcoming issue of New York Magazine. The photo can be seen here. The issue delves into Simpson's engagement as well as her recent business ventures. 

That is all fine and good, but can we talk about the fact that she is not wearing any pants. The shoot is a callback to Risky Business as Simpson dawns a dress shirt and little else. It has me wishing that I had upped my subscription to New York Magazine. 

Simpson relays that her fashion line is proving to be a very successful venture. It is on track to hit one billion dollars in sales this year. So maybe that is the cause for her new found body.  

Perhaps it is the forthcoming nuptials to former NFL player Eric Johnson. Whatever the case, there is no question that Simpson is back to being the WAG we all remember her being. 

Her hot photos have me now wishing I was a washed up NFL player. Those guys seem to be getting all the ladies. Now we can gladly forget that other Simpson, I think Ashley was her name. I will check my sources to see if I have the spelling correct.

Here is a story for all you romantics that believe love conquers all. As Valentine's Day turns into evening, many of you will take to your favorite restaurant and look fondly into your loved one's eyes...Okay, I almost lost my lunch. 

The Beckhams are proof positive that a marriage can withstand the bright lights and flashing bulbs of super stardom. They have gone through rumors of infidelity as well as issues the rise from their status of being celebrities. Through it all they have maintained their love. 

Los Angeles Galaxy star David Beckham recently illustrated one aspect that goes missing in some long-time relationships. He tries. There you have it guys. That is the secret to a happy marriage. 

After eleven years, David is going to whisk Posh away on a four-day trip to New York. Granted, many of use do not have the means for such extravagances. At the very least a card and some flowers will suffice. 

It is a marvel that this couple has maintained their marriage. As high profile couple get married and divorce shortly after, the Beckhams have sustained. It is not easy making a marriage work. It is harder still to maintain one when everyone can read your personal business in any tabloid. 

So love them or hate them, the Beckhams have found the formula for success and they should be commended for it.

It is good to be pretty. That is the overlying theme to Us Magazine's latest photo spread. They have taken all the pretty people and compiled picture show for all of us to drool over. 

You can view the photos in all their glory here. As we all know, you can't have a perfect pair without reaching deep into the sports world. There are just too may fine looking ladies on the arms of athletes to ignore.

The requisite mention of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are there. Their photo makes the one you took of you and your girlfriend look a tad like Morticia and Gomez Addams.

They then include Cameron Diaz alongside British male model Paul Sculfor. She has left the world of male models and has taken up with Alex Rodriguez. I guess she is done with men that actually have a reputable career.

But I cannot forget to mention my favorite sports couple. That would be Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker. A little known fact, you can replace Andy Roddick with just about any dude and they would still be my favorite couple.

That is how hot Brooklyn Decker is. She would even make me look like a world-class athlete, and the most exercise I have had all week was walking to the kitchen.

Beautiful people, what would we do without them. Oh, right. We would feel better about ourselves.
