Drew Silverthorn No.4
This isn't just a fluke. This team dominates and it looks like they have taken the latest negative media attention and used it as a rallying cry for humiliating every opponent they face. They are solid at every position.

A big jump for the Nittany Lions, especially given a slow start against Temple, but 31 points in one quarter showed their explosive ability. The emergence of Stephfon Green makes this team one of the most dangerous in the nation.

My rating is way higher than anyone, but they have blown out EVERYONE! Has APNo.9 Wisconsin on 10/11, and underrated No.14 The Ohio State Univ on 10/25. Look for the 10/25 game to tell who will be champion in the Big Ten, and look for JoePa to go out with a bang!

Michael Lemaire No.8

Kenneth Julian III No.8
They are moving the ball with ease, As well as playing defense as well as anybody. This is and will be a scary team to play, especially in Happy Valley.

miamimitchdotcom No.8
Time for the Nittany Lions to step up the competition but so far so good.

Mosang Miles No.8

J.C. Hagan No.8
I think any debate between JoPa and Papa Bowden has been settled.

Joe Paterno does not want to go out meekly and Darryl Clark is adding offense to a program that has been missing it for the last few years

Wesley Marshall No.9
Now for the meaningful part of their season...

andrew johnston No.9

Joe Pa's boys look stronger and stronger every week. The fighting Zookers should be a tougher test.

Dan Alexandre No.9

Phil Aiello No.9
I know they have yet to play anyone of note but re-watch those blowout wins and answer me this...Do you really believe that Wisconsin or even Ohio State would beat them head to head right now? Exactly. This is a good football team and we will know a lot more after Saturday's huge match up with Illinois and the juice. Only issue I see is the defensive line has a couple problems and has little depth.

Will Shelton No.9
A test this week with Illinois, but it's at home...

Lisa Horne No.9
I don't understand why the Nits aren't getting more respect. They have yet to struggle against some cupcakes and the spread is working in Happy Valley.

Chris Sielicki No.10
Best team in a bad Big 10

Scott Glesner No.10

Kristofer Green No.10

The Nittany Lions are looking like the team of old. In all fairness, the Big Ten will most likely have a new champion at season's end. The question is will it be Penn State?

12 No.10
JoPa has a a very good team this year. Penn State is scoring at will, and they have to get by Wisconson, OSU, and Mich. State and they're home free. Could be in the top 5 by week 8 or 9.

Jesse Monday No.10
Take notes her Ohio state. If you put up a lot of points against schools you are suposed to be ebating the crap out of (i.e. Ohio) then your ranking will reflect it.

Joseph Morgan No.10
The Nittany Lions hope to continue lighting up the scoreboard against Ron Zook and the Fighting Illini.

Billy Williamson No.10

Dan Murphy No.10

Nate Stafford No.10
One of the more impressive teams thus far. Too bad they haven't really played anyone yet. They'll finally get a tougher test this week when the Fighting Zookers come to town. Illinois beat Penn State fairly easily last year. The Lions will be looking for payback in Happy Valley.

Ryan Williams No.10

David Morgan No.10
Strong start, probably will drop during Big 10 season.

I think they are a good football team. Needs to beat Illinois this weekend to keep pace with the Badgers...

Most impressive team in a weak conference.

Michael Shibley No.11
Joe Pa's group have really put of the points. Can they do it in conference play?

Jared Reback No.11
They have looked awfully good, but they need to do it against real competition. This is a very loose ranking that could move in either direction in the next couple weeks.

Absolutely blowing other teams out, and yet still not good enough to crack the Top Ten. Whether this is the final year of JoePa or not, the Nittany Lions are playing some great football.

Jayson Stock No.11
Lions haven't been truely tested, but Illinois may answer that question this week.

Tracy Robbins No.11
Joe Pa's boys are playing Penn St. football again. Could the Lions send Paterno out on a good note?

Rob Fox No.11
The Badgers are ranked higher but Penn State is the team to beat in the Big 10. These guys are going to run all over everyone in that conference and JoePA might build a comfortable 3 or 4 game lead over Bobby Bowden by the end of the year.

Trey Bradley No.11
I get the feeling the Nittany Lions are the favorites in the Big Ten.

Nick Shepkowski No.11

Brian Evans No.12
Joe Pa has managed to keep his team from getting distracted by all of the off-field issues.

Eric Josephson No.12
Penn State has a fast paced offense, but is un-tested going in to Big Ten play.

College Football Fanatic No.12
Would you please play somebody? I still think you guys are very underrated, but PLAY AN ACTUAL GOOD TEAM.

Don Bradner No.12
A solid team with a solid test against No.22 Illinois this week.

Ryan Staab No.12
Did anyone outside of State College think the Lions would be this good so far despite the team’s off-the-field problems? The Illini will give them a good game, but the advantage goes to the Lions for hosting at the always hostile Beaver Stadium.

Colin Clark No.12
I am certainly impressed. This is a good team. I do not think that they will make it through the Big 10 without a few losses though. I will not be too surprised if I am proven wrong by them. Again, they haven't played anybody yet (sorry Oregon State).

(previous: 15) Showed signs of weakness, or possibly looking ahead to next week's game against Illinois, since they gave up a field goal in 45-3 spanking of cross-state rival and national powerhouse *cough* Temple.

John Scott No.13

Ben Lee No.13
Their offense is amazing. We'll see if their defense can keep Juice Williams from taking over the game.

Ho hum, beating down the teams they should. No.22 Illinois should provide a nice test to the Penn State defense. Will it hold?

Peter R No.14
Can they overcome the mighty Illini?

Lev Facher No.14

Isaac Elyacharshuster No.15

Jason Hackney No.16
The Nittany Lions proved that they can demolish any cupcake team in the country. Temple, Syracuse, Coastal Carolina, and Oregon State. It is sad when in four games played, Temple was your toughest challenge. Temple also made the Nittany Lions fumble way too many times.

Brad Shipley No.22

John O'Dell No.22
Many experts have fallen in love with the Nittany Lions but the competition they have faced has been nearly nonexistent. Penn State may be a quality team but they will need a convincing victory over Illinois this week or Wisconsin in three weeks to prove it. Until then, a marginal Top 25 team is all they are.
