B/R Top25 Oklahoma Comments Week 5
Matt Wright No.1
Jesse Monday No.1
The Big 12 is too great a conference to not have the number one team.
Phil Aiello No.1
They look like men out there playing with a bunch of boys
Chris Sielicki No.2
I think this is possibly the best team in the country. More talent spread evenly on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. They have not played a quality opponent yet, but they have hammered every team they have faced.
Chris Flanagan No.2
Mitchell Morse No.2
David Rung No.2
Peter R No.2
Looking good.

Isaac Elyacharshuster No.2
evan brugger No.2
One of the more balanced offensive attacks in college football with Demarco Murray and Sam Bradford, who has been pretty close to perfect.
Billy Williamson No.2
I'm skeptical because Oklahoma has a history of beating the snot out of early season opponents only to fail on the bigger stages. Still, I'll wait until it happens...
Jayson Stock No.2
Also earned it.
Justin Thomas No.2
They look like a good team...against weak opponents. Let's see how conference play works out for them.
Rob Steele No.2
Jim Sheldon No.2
Look like the best team in the Big 12
Ezekiel Fuhrman No.2
College Football Fanatic No.2
This could possibly be the best Sooners offense of all time. The game with Texas Tech on November 22nd could be the best of 2008, at least in offensive terms. They've got to beat pesky TCU first though, who beat them 17-10 in 2005.
David Morgan No.2
Close second
Ben Lee No.2
They've beat up some pretty good teams in Cincinnati and Washington. TCU should give them a pretty good game.
Don Bradner No.2
A consistent team with plenty of talent to go far. TCU should help gauge where the Sooners stand.
Scientizzle FoShizzle No.2
Wesley Marshall No.2
While the Trojans have proven the most, Oklahoma has looked the best.
Rob Fox No.2
The Sooners have been bulldozing everyone they've played. Even though they were off this week no one has impressed me enough to leapfrog them.
Mike Vorkunov No.2
Bob Stoops knows how to prepare his team for September football
Colin Clark No.2
I cannot imagine unseating the Sooners yet. I think I will have a better understanding of this team after the TCU game this weekend.
Chad Haynie No.2
Alex Farrer No.2
Toby Parker No.2
See USC. Need to keep destroying whoever is in their path to keep the SEC teams from breathing down their necks...
Mosang Miles No.2
Jonathan Lintner No.2
The Sooners have looked strong, and by playing a pair of BCS schools as out-of-conference games, they earn their way into the second spot.
Scott Glesner No.2
Clark Nelson No.2
Justin Goar No.2
Oklahoma will have bigger games ahead to prove themselves but will get the Horned Frogs this weekend.
Brook Bristow No.2
Dan Alexandre No.2
Trey Bradley No.2
TCU is one of just two programs to beat Bob Stoops at home??
Will Shelton No.2
USC deserves No.1, but this is the best team in the country.
Lisa Horne No.2
Like the Trojans, their bye didn't hurt them, but they play a pesky TCU this week.
Burgess Shaw No.2
Also took an off week...will take on TCU this week after TCU upsetted them in 2005.
12 No.2
Bob Stoops has the Sooners playing like champions.
Stuart Whitehair No.2
Michael Shibley No.2
Looking forward to seeing how this team handles Big 12 play.
Nick Shepkowski No.2
Drew Silverthorn No.2
Playing like they have something to prove. Much like USC, someone really needs to show this team can be stopped before they drop out of the top two.
Tim Pollock No.2
Jared Reback No.2
They have looked lights out against each of their opponents so far. It will be real interesting to see how they fare in Big 12 play.
Adam Lindemer No.3
Consistantly score 50+. They are definitely the best team in the Big 12 right now.
Alex Ferguson No.3
Michael Lemaire No.3
Kenneth Julian III No.3
They still look good, but Georgia has the best win between the two. Next week against TCU will be a tough match. If it is not, then look for them to move up.
Lev Facher No.3
miamimitchdotcom No.3
If they score less than 40 points by halftime it's an bad game.
Edward Leigh No.3
Nate Stafford No.3
BYE last week. TCU this week. I'm sure all OU fans remember the loss a few years back to TCU in Norman. So far one of the most explosive offenses in the country.
Ryan Bower No.3
Sam Bradford looks like an All-American, but can the defense hold up in big 12 play?
John Scott No.3
Tracy Robbins No.3
The week off cost them for now with Georgia playing as well as they did.
tom scurlock No.3
Eric Josephson No.3
Beating Washington? So easy a caveman can do it. Wait until Big 12 play.
Garrett Spain No.3
Jon Lunceford No.3
Jimson Cuenta No.3
Matthew Smith No.3
Hector Aleandro No.3
Michael Cline No.3
BeachBum Chris No.3
Beating up on all the lesser teams. First real test comes at Texas on October 11.
J.C. Hagan No.3
Brian Evans No.3
The "preseason" is over and now conference play will start up. Can the Sooners keep up the rate of scoring against Big 12 defenses?
Burton DeWitt No.3
Chase Davis No.3
Dan Boss No.4
Jay Armstrong No.4
so it is late September and everyone who thinks they have the college football season figured out already is saying that Oklahoma and USC are the two greatest teams of all time by let's remember that these are the same sooners lost to an unranked Colorado squad at Texas Tech and then stumbled again in the Fiesta Bowl against West Virginia I'm betting that history repeats itself at least once either in the Red River shootout or in the big 12 title game against Missouri
Joseph Morgan No.4
The Sooners look to remain undefeated against TCU.
Ryan Williams No.4
Ryan Staab No.4
After killing Washington two weeks ago, the Sooners should see better competition against the Horned Frogs when they visit Norman on Saturday.
Jason Hackney No.4
Steadily winning every week. Ought to be interesting this week with a strong TCU team.
andrew johnston No.4
RedRaider Red No.4
Don't get me wrong.... I love the Sooners. In fact, they're my fav. team in the Big 12 after the Red Raiders. But as I said before, the Sooners averaged around 60 points/game before losing to the Buffs on the road last year. I'm not saying anything.. just that...(cough)....next game TCU...(cough)....2005....(cough) :-)
Will Devlin No.4
Kristofer Green No.4
Dan Murphy No.5
Could they climb to number one.
Steve Moreau No.5
John O'Dell No.5
Three expected convincing wins over sub-par competition has done little to vault the Sooners. Over the next four weeks Oklahoma faces TCU, Baylor, Texas and Kansas. The Sooners are in fluid situation and could just as easily climb in the polls as they could fall.
Scott Pusich No.5
(previous: 4) Faced stiff opposition from B.Y.E. last week, and doesn't play on Papa John's night this week, so drops one spot. That extra week might actually come in handy, given that next week's game against TCU isn't looking so pastry-sweet anymore (see No.23)
Will Chambers No.5
They crush everyone, but who wouldnt put up 50+ points against Chattanooga, Cinci, and Washington?
Jeremiah Coggins No.5
Out of respect for what they've done so far only gets them a No.5 ranking from me. They have yet to play anyone ranked, and really won't 10/11 when they play Texas.
Ron Johnson No.5
The Sooners will not like dropping in the standings, but the teams that played deserved their spot. If Oklahoma shows they can play just as hard, then they should get their spot back.
Brad Shipley No.6
