One of the more unfortunate bummers in life is that sports and sexy chicks, two of the things that men covet above everything else, rarely mix. True, there are plenty of women who actively engage in sporting activities, and there are many who follow sports just as passionately as most men.
But the fact of the matter is that it's just not every day you meet a pretty lady that can also hold her own in a conversation about sports.
Nevertheless, not all hope is lost. Such lovely ladies do exist. And believe it or not, you know who they are.
Indeed, we're talking people like Erin Andrews, Alyssa Milano and Lisa Guerrero, who are renowned not only for being rather easy on the eyes, but also very much in the know when it comes to sports.
If your spirits are suddenly raised, then this is the list for you.
So behold! Here are the 25 sexiest cool chicks in sports.
Honorable Mention: Cameron Diaz
Listen, we all saw the popcorn thing between Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez at the Super Bowl. Yes, it was awkward, but it's time to get over it.
If you can bring yourself to do so, you'll realize that it's apparent that we may have a budding sports junkie on our hands. Her relationship with A-Rod is going to put her in Yankee Stadium on a pretty consistent basis, and her appearance at the Super Bowl suggests that she can stomach a football game as well.
Not convinced? Well, if you're into the whole outdoor sports thing, just know that Cameron is also quite the surfing enthusiast.
Honorable Mention: Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, are regulars at Lakers and Clippers games. And because Warren is good friends with Baron Davis, so is Jessica.
Basically, you have to give Jessica kudos for being pretty much the only celebrity in Hollywood that gives a darn about the Clippers. If you're looking for a woman with whom to geek out over Blake Griffin, look no further.
Of course, you could also geek out over her, as she's done some pretty awesome movies.
25. Jennifer Garner
As I'm sure you no doubt recall, Jennifer Garner made her first public appearance with Ben Affleck during the 2004 World Series. Instant sports credibility.
But it doesn't stop there. Jennifer is also a renowned 49ers fan, which means that she could easily pass the time talking about two of the most storied franchises in all of sports.
Shoot, the last girl I tried to chat up had never even heard of the Red Sox. That was when I knew it wasn't going to work out.
24. Elisha Cuthbert
Bruno Vincent/Getty Images
In addition to being one of the more well-known actresses in show business today with starring roles in movies like Old School and The Girl Next Door, Elisha Cuthbert is also one of the most diehard hockey fans around.
Indeed, you may have deduced this from her much-publicized relationships with Sean Avery and Dion Phaneuf, but Elisha is also a Los Angeles Kings season-ticket holder.
Personally, I'm not much of a hockey fan, but even I'm fascinated by the idea that she was able to put up with Sean Avery for an extended period of time.
23. Brooklyn Decker
Jason Merritt/Getty Images
Brooklyn Decker has definitely made a name for herself as a regular in Sports Illustrated's annual Swimsuit Edition, but don't think that represents the extent of her sports knowledge.
After all, Brooklyn also happens to be married to Andy Roddick and is also a diehard fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels and Carolina Panthers.
Moreover, she has used her college b-ball and NFL smarts to land gigs with CNN and Sports New York.
Now you know not to underestimate her if and when you meet face-to-face.
22. Bailey Brautigan
"Who?"
Wait a second, are you telling me you don't know who Bailey Brautigan is?
I see you shaking your head, so I guess I'll explain.
Let me put it this way. If you've read an article on this site any time in the last year, then chances are you've been subjected to the formidable sports knowledge of Bailey Brautigan on at least one occasion. She is, and I swear that this is not just a case of shameless promotion, one of the best and most accomplished writers on Bleacher Report.
"Yes, but is she sexy?"
Are you able to see that picture?
Point made.
21. Krista Voda
I'm not much for NASCAR myself, but Krista Voda can't seem to get enough of it. She's a pit reporter for FOX and has also done some work for the Speed Channel.
Well, that's not enough to get me interested in NASCAR, so I suppose I would have to engage her in a conversation about one of the other sports she's covered: namely college football, college basketball, golf and baseball.
Come to think of it, we would probably get along just fine.
20. Michelle Beadle
Michelle Beadle's rise to sexy sportscaster fame was something of a long and winding road. She started as an intern for the San Antonio Spurs, then became a host for FOX Sports Net's Big Game Hunters. After that, she was a sideline reporter that covered the Professional Bull Riders circuit (yes, there is such a thing).
From there, it was on to the YES network, and then she did some work for Michael Kay's ESPN radio show.
And then, finally, ESPN's SportsNation. She was one of the last of the 142 people that auditioned for the show, and at this point, I daresay ESPN made the right choice.
If you're not getting why her getting SportsNation was cool, then you clearly have no business reading this slideshow.
19. Lindsay Soto

Let me guess, your wife/girlfriend/girl-that-you're-stalking doesn't know much about the NFL, does she?
Well, Lindsay Soto does, and she's been a sports junkie as far back as her days at El Toro High School, where she was the sports editor for the yearbook.
Professionally, she's worked as a sports reporter for ABC, FOX, FOX Sports Net, NBC, Versus, and most recently, the NFL Network.
My bet is that you'll never watch another minute of Chris Berman.
18. Rooney Mara
"Rooney Mara?"
Yes, Rooney Mara, the actress who played the girl that kickstarted the creation of Facebook.
"Okay, but why is she on this list?"
Glad you asked. Her father is Timothy Christopher Mara, the president of player evaluation for the New York Giants. Rooney's uncle, John Mara, co-owns the Giants. And she is also the great-granddaughter of Art Rooney, Sr., founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Moral of the story: Rooney Mara has more football in one drop of her blood than than the average fan has in his entire body, and that includes you and me.
I've never been so starstruck...
17. Heidi Watney
Once upon a time, Heidi Watney competed in the Miss California pageant back in 2002. Shortly after, she started work as a sports anchor in Fresno, and also hosted a sports talk show.
These days, she's spends the bulk of her time covering the Red Sox for NESN. She is so popular with the folks in New England, in fact, that she was nominated to become president of Red Sox Nation, which was a considerable honor.
She eventually lost to Jerry Remy (hard to top him), but she is still universally loved in the Nation.
Not a Red Sox fan? That's understandable, I guess. But don't tell me you wouldn't fake like you were if it meant getting on Heidi's good side.
16. Hazel Mae
While Heidi Watney can satisfy your hankering for some Red Sox knowledge, it's a former NESN anchor that takes the prize as far as overall baseball savvy is concerned.
That would be Hazel Mae, who took her talents from NESN to the MLB Network back in 2008.
At this point, I suspect that the many legions of people who have never bothered to turn the MLB Network on are rushing for the nearest television. And they are right to do so.
In any case, if you've ever dreamed of a beautiful girl who can also talk baseball (who hasn't?), Hazel Mae could very well be the girl of your dreams.
15. Danielle Lloyd
Soccer isn't a big deal in the states, but I hear those around the rest of the world simply adore it (though it does bother me that they so dimwittedly call it "football").
In any case, one of the biggest soccer fans around is English supermodel Danielle Lloyd. Heck, she even went so far as to modify her own jersey.
Additionally, Danielle has had relationships with four footballers: Teddy Sheringham, Marcus Bent, Jermaine Defoe and Jamie O'Hara. She and O'Hara got engaged in 2009 and had their first child in 2010.
You probably wish you had taken up soccer right now. Me too.
14. Jennie Finch
As I'm sure you well know, Jennie Finch is one of the best softball players in history. She helped pitch the American team to gold at the 2004 Summer Olympics, going 2-0 with eight shutout innings and 13 strikeouts.
Naturally, Jennie is a huge baseball fan, particularly of the Los Angeles Dodgers. She has also worked as a co-host on This Week in Baseball.
Jennie is married to Casey Daigle, a pitcher who is currently in the San Francisco Giants minor league system. He proposed to her on the mound at the softball stadium at the University of Arizona, her alma mater. They named their first son Ace.
Yup, she's a baseball fan.
13. Eliza Dushku
There are plenty of famous Boston sports fans (Affleck, Matt Damon, Stephen King), but none of them are as pretty to look at as Eliza Dushku.
You might be a little tired of the Boston connection by now, but Eliza is a huge Red Sox and Celtics fan, which means that her ongoing relationship with former Laker Rick Fox must get contentious at times.
Regardless, she certainly knows Boston sports, which in my opinion automatically qualifies her for the upper crust of sports fandom.
Personally, if I ever meet Eliza, I would also make it a point to ask her what it was like starring opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in True Lies, which of course is one of the great films of all time.
12. Ines Sainz
Make fun of Ines Sainz all you want. She'll put up with it. Shoot, she's made it clear that she won't even seek discipline for those who make a few catcalls.
That should tell you that she's more thick-skinned than she gets credit for, which indicates that she is a better fit for the sports world than you might think.
Of course, even if you were to get it in your mind to walk up to Ines in an attempt to start a conversation about football, she has the kind of hotness that can stop a man in his tracks and send him mumbling the other direction.
11. Ashley Russell
Who here loves college football recruiting?
I see quite a few hands, so I assume you're all familiar with Rivals.com. Indeed, where would all of us college football junkies be without it, am I right?
Well, it just so happens that's where Ashley Russell made a name for herself, and it led to additional work with the Big Ten Network.
Are you a fan of Ashley's yet? You should be.
10. Jenn Brown
Jenn Brown is doing the Heisman pose in a sexy dress. Your argument is invalid.
But if you feel like having one anyway, prepare to get wrecked.
There's nothing questionable about Jenn's sports background. She went to Florida on a softball scholarship and finished her career with the fifth-most steals in Gators history.
After graduating summa cum laude, Jenn got her big break on HDNet's travel show, The Wild Side. After that, it was on to gigs as a sports reporter for Showtime Sports and CBS. And then, the big one: ESPN.
Basically, she's an up-and-coming version of Erin Andrews, and she might even be hotter than Erin, too.
9. Amber Wilson
Amber Wilson is by far the hottest fantasy sports geek on the planet. I mean, it's not even close.
These days, Amber is working as a host on Beer Money for SNY. Before that, she worked for OpenSports.com and CBSSports.com.
But never mind that. The point is that Amber is a hottie who will actually know what the hell you're talking about in the event that you start rambling on about your rotisserie league.
Win.
8. Leeann Tweeden
When you're on the list of "The Top Hooters Girls of All-Time," you are officially an attractive lady. Of course, appearing in Playboy helps too.
As such, I for one think Leeann deserves some props just for those two accomplishments alone. The fact that she was a correspondent on The Best Damn Sports Show Period for seven years and is now the hostess for Poker After Dark is an added bonus.
Some of you might not think poker is a sport. I say that as long as curling is a sport, so is poker.
7. Erin Andrews
Jenn Brown may very well be the next Erin Andrews. But for now, there's no replacing the one and only.
The best part about Erin is that her sports knowledge encompasses all of our favorites: college football, college basketball, Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League. You name it, chances are she's covered it.
Making matters even better is that Erin has also suffered a sports injury in the line of duty. That was back in 2009, when she was hit on the chin by an Alex Cora foul ball.
Feel like sitting down for a chat with Erin yet?
I thought so. Just do yourself a favor and don't ask about her favorite hotels.
6. Lisa Guerrero
Good luck finding somebody with a more impressive sports resume than Lisa Guerrero. She started her rise to prominence as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams in the 1980s, and then moved on to become the entertainment director for the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots.
From there, it was on to The Best Damn Sports Show Period, Monday Night Football, and then into the arms of former Major League pitcher Scott Erickson.
If you think this is good enough, you should know that we have actual statistical evidence of Lisa's awesomeness. The year after she left the MNF team, ratings saw a noticeable drop.
5. Sarah Spain
I was going to properly introduce you to Sarah Spain, but I decided against it.
Instead, I'll let her do the honors. According to her official Twitter account, Sarah is an "espnW contributor, ESPN1000 SportsCenter Anchor, ESPNChicago.com reporter. Cornell grad, washed-up athlete, amazon, Chicago-area native, sarcastic smartass."
So... I guess you might call her the female Bill Simmons. Between the two of them, I'd rather have a beer with Sarah.
Sorry, Bill.
Sarah, the invitation is on the table.
4. Ashley Judd
You will not find a bigger fan of Kentucky Wildcats basketball than Ashley Judd. This makes sense of course, as Judd is Kentucky alum, and she still makes it a point to sit in the student section at every home game.
But her passion doesn't stop there. Judd also served as a guest columnist for a local Kentucky newspaper last year, contributing articles about the NCAA tournament.
Oh by the way, she's also married to British race car driver Dario Franchitti. So in all honesty, she probably knows more about sports than you or me.
3. Alyssa Milano
Good luck finding a bigger Los Angeles Dodgers fan than Alyssa Milano (especially if you show up at Dodgers Stadium looking for one before the third inning). As a matter of fact, Alyssa even has her own Dodgers blog, which is legit.
She also launched her own line of female baseball apparel called "Touch." And indeed, she has also dated a handful of baseball players, ranging from Barry Zito to Brad Penny.
Of course, Alyssa is also a big fan of the LA Kings and the New York Giants.
And yes, I would certainly make sure to ask her about what it was like working alongside Arnold in Commando, which is quite possibly the greatest film ever made.
2. Larissa Riquelme
Not many people outside of Paraguay knew the name Larissa Riquelme before the 2010 World Cup.
Thanks to this little scene, now we all know her.
Indeed, the Paraguayan supermodel became an international celebrity by rooting for the Paraguay national team, and subsequently sent profits at Nokia through the roof.
It only got better, of course, as Larissa promised to run totally naked through Asuncion if Paraguay won the World Cup. Well, I guess not "totally" naked, as she vowed to paint herself red, white and blue—the colors of the Paraguay flag.
As such, what she basically managed to do was make people around the world supporters of her team. What have you done for your team lately?
1. Lisa Dergan
Like Leeann Tweeden, Lisa Dergen got her start as a Playboy playmate. And like Leeann, Lisa then started a career as a sports reporter.
It all started in 2001 when Lisa was hired by KCBS in Los Angeles. Soon after, she joined FOX Sports Net, for whom she has interviewed people like Tiger Woods and John Elway, and covered events such as the Super Bowl, the Kentucky Derby and the U.S. Open.
In 2006, she got married to speedy outfielder Scott Podsednick. Before him, she dated blockbuster mastermind Michael Bay.
But the coolest thing about Lisa has nothing to do with sports: She is the only real life personality to ever become a Bond girl, as Raymond Benson wrote her into his 1999 James Bond story, Midsummer Night's Doom.
Indeed, the words "sexy" and "cool" don't even cut it. And that's why Lisa is No. 1.
