In what is sure to be considered one of the biggest upsets in not only Daytona 500, but NASCAR history, Trevor Bayne scored his first career win in just his second career Sprint Cup start.
Bayne spent most of the race pushing other drivers to the front, but when it mattered the most, he was the one receiving the biggest push of them all.
After then leader David Ragan was black flagged for changing lanes before the start finish line, Bayne was awarded the top spot for the second attempt at a green-white-checkered finish. Bayne that used a terrific push from 2000 Sprint Cup Series champion Bobby Labonte to jump out to a lead.
As he made his way out of turn four, Bayne had to hold off a hard charging Carl Edwards and David Gilliland. They finished second and third respectively, Labonte was fourth and Kurt Busch rounded out the top five.
