Boxing Champion Manny Pacquiao to Visit White House Today for Lunch With President Obama and First Lady
Manny Pacquiao continues his whirlwind tour of the United States on Tuesday with a trip to the White House. He has made appearances in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York before making his final stop in the nation's capital yesterday.
Reportedly, he got a breathtaking panoramic view of the White House late Monday night. According to the report, he will first meet with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Congress will honor Pacquiao on his visit to the White House.
After that, Pacquiao will then meet with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for lunch. They are expected to be joined by Vice President Joe Biden.
The session in Congress was supposed to get underway around 10:30 this morning, and the lunch will begin around noon today.
Perhaps Pacquiao can get President Obama to attend his May 7 boxing match with Shane Mosley in Las Vegas. The President is a huge sports fan and Pacquiao is one of the biggest sports stars in the world.
Plus, Pacquiao is involved in politics in his home country, the Philippines, so maybe he could pass it off as a goodwill gesture between countries if the President were to attend.
