Blues Win, Still a Bad Day Though

A couple hours after finding out that Erik Johnson would be out indefinitely.  He tore both his mcl and acl and common knowledge says that will be at least a year to full recover from such a serious injury.  The Blues took the ice versus the Dallas Stars in St. Louis.

The Scoring started early with Andy Mcdonald connecting on a chance from Lee Stempniak and Brad Boyes.  Just two minutes later Lee Eriksson scoring from Joel Lundqvist and Matt Niskanen on the power play.  Scoring halted for about 15 minutes till the Blues converted on the power play.  Lee Stempniak put a great shot past Stephan Tobias from Keith Tkachuk and Alex Pietrangelo.

The second period was relatively calm compared to the first with the only goal coming from the Blues.  Two minutes in Brad Boyes scored a beauty from Andy Mcdonald and Alex Pietrangelo.

The third period got ugly, after Sean Avery scored a goal.  He took a shot at Cam Janssen and Cam responded by taking him to the ice.  Following that Barrett Jackman and Steve Ott fought.  After that it calmed down till a minute left.  The Stars pulled their goalie and Andy Mcdonald missed two empty nets; once hitting the post.

It was a very impressive game with Alex Pietrangelo showing he may be able to fill the void left by Erik Johnson's injury.  It also showed us that Brad Boyes still has the great scoring touch.  Hopefully he can keep it up and lead the Blues to another great and improving season.
