Zane DanielsCorrespondent ISeptember 23, 2008

The Bengals signed 8 year veteran cornerback Jamar Fletcher today after he was released by the Houston Texans when they made the 53 man cuts.

Fletcher has played in 108 games with 45 starts. He has 7 career interceptions and 213 tackles.

In order to make room for Fletcher the Bengals waived CB Geoffrey Pope. Also, what appears to be a move in order to make room for Chris Henry's return next week the Bengals also waived undrafted rookie free agent Maurice Purify from Nebraska.
