Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva Results from Fedor Emelianenko vs. Antonio Silva
Good lord, it's always a shock to see exactly how much smaller Fedor is than his opponent during most of his bouts.
And in this fight, that size differential appears to be a bi of a problem.
I'd give the first round to Fedor by a 10-9 score, but it wasn't that clear of an advantage. Bigfoot scored with a couple big straight shots and two big takedowns. The rest of the offense went to the Russian, who landed some of his trademark Sambo casts without the trademark punishment.
The second round was utterly and completely Antonio Silva's.
He scored the early takedown and then almost ended the contest on several submission attempts. There was a choke and a kneebar that both were inches from fatal, but it was the hammer fists that did the trick.
Too many landed and Emelianenko's eye swelled totally shut, forcing referee Dan Miragliotta to call the bout.
Antonio Silva defeats Fedor Emelianenko by TKO (doctor stoppage) at 5:00 of the first round.
