Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva Live Results from Valentijn Overeem vs. Ray Sefo
Irony might just be defined as an Overeem beating an accomplished kickboxer who was getting the better of the standing exchanges yet couldn't muster much defense on the ground.
That's not to say Alistair Overeem has no ground game since that's untrue, but it's still his biggest vulnerability.
Anyway, Ray Sefo was tagging Valentijn with leg kicks and overhand rights, and seemed to be setting up for a big finish. But the Python came shooting in, secured and finished a single-leg takedown and then closed the affair with neck crank.
Valentijn Overeem defeats Ray Sefo by submission (neck crank) at 1:37 of the first round.
Since that's about all there is to report on the action, I think I'll get back to enjoying what has to be the most awkward on-screen moment (an interview of Fedor Emelianenko) that I've seen since Kanye West's famous rant that culminated in "George Bush doesn't care about black people."
