Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva Results from the Preliminary Card
The preliminary card wrapped up in style with four straight stoppages.
After LaBerge got the ball rolling with the TKO, Sam Oropeza followed suit and beat a verbal submission out of Don Carlo-Clauss whose name begs for the nickname "The Spanish Santa." Don't know much about Oropeza, but he must hit like a mule to get the verbal tap due to strikes.
Sam Oropeza defeats Don Carlo-Clauss by submission (strikes) at 4:10 of the first round.
Igor Gracie was next in the stoppage conga line as he secured a technical submission of John Salgado in the prelim's penultimate contest. Yet another product of the famed Gracie Family, Igor did the clan proud, needing less than 10 minutes to accomplish the feat.
Igor Grace defeats John Salgado by technical submission (triangle arm choke) at 3:04 of the second round.
In the final prelim fight, The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck veteran Marc Stevens turned in a similar performance as the one he authored on the show. That is to say, not great.
His opponent John Cholish looked pretty slick and showed good all-around talent by holding his own in the stand up before stopping Stevens on the ground. Marc seemed to be rallying and taking Cholish's back, but John rolled right into position for the decisive kneebar.
John Cholish defeats Marc Stevens by submission (kneebar) at 3:57 of the second round.
