The ongoing drama surrounding Thiago Silva and his drug test from UFC 125 took another turn today when the Nevada State Athletic Commission questioned the veracity of the statements that Silva made earlier in the week.

The Background

MMAWeekly.com was the first to break the news that Silva was off the UFC 130 fight card and replaced by "Suga" Rashad Evans. They cited a source close to the event, but offered no further details.

Tatame then contacted Silva, who reported that he was in fact healthy and planning on fighting Jackson.

Later in the afternoon, speculation arose that Silva's UFC 125 drug test may come back "dirty."

MMAFighting.com then reported that the Nevada State Athletic Commission had passed all but one drug test from UFC 125—Thiago Silva's.

The Athletic Commission did not say or imply that Silva's drug test was "dirty," only that it was still processing.

On Thursday, Silva spoke to Guilherme Cruz from Tatame and attempted to set things straight.

"I did two exams, one come back [sic] negative and the other positive," Silva told Cruz. "My blood is clean, I know. I didn't take anything, I'm cool with that."

On Friday, February 11, the NSAC added another wrinkle to the story. Contacting FightersOnly via email, NSAC executive Keith Kizer wrote, "Only 'A' sample tested so far. It probably would be until late Feb./early March will [sic] respect to the 'B' Sample."

As of now, it appears that Silva's scheduled bout with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will take place at UFC 130.
