All the talk around the NBA lately has been whether or not the Nuggets will trade Carmelo Anthony. It is obvious that he is a star in the league but is he one of the top ten players in the NBA today? I don't believe so.

I don't think he is a guy you can build a championship team around and there are ten guys I would rather have on my team right now. Don't get me wrong, he is a great player and one of the top scorers there is but I just can't see him winning a championship.

Here is my list in no particular order of guys I would rather have.

Kevin Durant

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - JANUARY 30: Kevin Durant #35 of the Oklahoma City Thunder at Ford Center on January 30, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by downloading and or using this photograph, User is

Durant is the best scorer in the league period. He has won a scoring title and made two all star appearances and he is only 22.

Blake Griffin

This guy is a walking highlight reel every time he steps on the floor. He practically has a double double every night and he is only a rookie. As long as he can stay healthy he will be a star in this league for a long time.

Kobe Bryant

BOSTON, MA - FEBRUARY 10: Kobe Bryant #24 of the Los Angeles Lakers tries to get around Ray Allen #20 of the Boston Celtics on February 10, 2011 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The Lakers defeated the Celtics 92-86. NOTE TO USER: User express

There cannot even be an argument on this one. Kobe is the best player in the game and can carry his team on his back. He scores at will, plays tough defense, and simply is a winner.

Chris Paul

PHOENIX, AZ - JANUARY 30: Chris Paul #3 of the New Orleans Hornets drives the ball against Steve Nash #13 of the Phoenix Suns during the NBA game at US Airways Center on January 30, 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and

Paul has maybe lost a step since his knee injury but he is still one of the best in the game. Just by being on the floor he makes his whole team better. One example is David West. Without Paul I don't think West is even close to being an all-star.

Lebron James

MIAMI, FL - FEBRUARY 08: LeBron James #6 of the Miami Heat shoots over Danny Granger #33 of the Indiana Pacers during a game at American Airlines Arena on February 8, 2011 in Miami, Florida. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by d

This is the MVP in the league and can do everything asked of him on the basketball court. As we have seen by Clevelands struggles, he makes his teammates better. There is noone else in the league I would rather have on my team.

Dwight Howard

Howard is the best big man in the NBA and is getting better every night which is scary. Every team would love to have a big man to build around. If he can gain a little more touch on the inside and develop a little bit of a jumper he will be unstoppable.

Derrick Rose

LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 19: Derrick Rose #1 of the Chicago Bulls drives against Derek Fisher #2 of the Los Angeles Lakers during the game on November 19, 2009 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The Lakers won 108-93. NOTE TO USER: User e

This guy keeps getting better. He is ultra quick and can beat any defernder to the rim. He needs to work on his outside game a little bit more to be considered one of the top few in the game.

Dwayne Wade

After Kobe and Lebron you can argue he is the next best guy. He is a top scorer and can carry his team on any given night, plus he already has won a championship.

Amare Stoudamire

NEW YORK, NY - FEBRUARY 06: Amar'e Stoudemire #1 of the New York Knicks dunks the ball against the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden on February 6, 2011 in New York City. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and agrees that, by downloading

Stoudamire is a top MVP candidate this year and has made the Knicks relevant again. People wondered if he would still be a top player without Steve Nash and he has proven them all wrong.

Deron Williams

LOS ANGELES, CA - DECEMBER 29: Deron Williams #8 of the Utah Jazz controls the ball against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center on December 29, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. The Jazz won 103-85. NOTE TO USER: User expressly acknowledges and

Williams is averaging 22 ppg and almost 10 assists a game this year. He is looking to make his second consecutive all-star game this year.
