In a cold and very wet Durbanthe funny thing was I did not get to watch much sport, besides the Natal Vs WP U/19 and U21 which was held at Durban Varsity on Saturday. It was great to see junior rugby when we only watch the senior teams on TV every weekend. The reason you may ask why was the game plated at varsity, well there was soccer final between Chiefs and Sundown to be played. But because it was to wet, it has been postponed to tomorrow night. The Junior Sharkies lost both games to WP province but to be fair the weather did play into Province’s hands.

On the Currie Cup front, the Sharks are still top after a 44-19 win against the Valke in Kempton Park. This Saturday the Sharks will go off to Ellis Park to take on the high flying Lions, in what will be the game of the weekend. The Sharks will have to be top of their game to walk away with a win in Jozi. The Lions are still in 3rd after a 31-10 win in a Wellingtonagainst Boland. The wine farmers look destined to end bottom with the Valke and more than likely out of the A section. The Bulls mauled the Cheetahs in Bloem 23-5 and WP beat Griquas in Cape Town on Friday 30-18.

Listening to our Afrikaans brothers on Super Rugby, they all seem to have written off the Sharks. Lions Vs Bulls, WP Vs Bulls even WP Vs Lions is all the call. Nobody speaks about the Cheetahs playing in a final or even the Sharks making it. I see a Sharks Vs Cheetahs Semi in Durbanand a Bulls Vs Lions Semi at Loftus and a Sharks Vs Lions Final at Kingspark with the Sharks victorious. Yes, there are still two weeks left before the semi finals, but I think it is time to call it. Let the fun begin and it will be interesting to see your calls as well.

The Gunners are top of the English premiere league with a stunning 3-1 victory away to Bolton. Man Citythumped Pompie 6-0 yesterday in the game of the weekend. Stephen Gerhard was robbed of his 100th premiere league goal, for reasons only known to the match officials. Liverpool drew 0-0 at home to Stoke City. Hullgot a very good 2-2 draw against Everton. Spurs are still without a win but managed a draw at home against Wigan. Blackburn beat Fulham 1-0 and the Happy Hammers got a very solid 3-1 win against Newcastle. The new Hammers manager - Gainfranco Zola
