Carmelo Anthony To Lakers Trade May Make Wife LaLa Happy
Carmelo Anthony and television personality LaLa Vasquez, both native New Yorkers, have made no secret of their desire to ultimately end up in their home state once Anthony hits the free agent market at the end of the season.
So far this season, the lowly New Jersey Nets have hit numerous snags in trying to obtain the All-Star small forward via trade. The common sentiment among media members is that 'Melo was hesitant in signing a long-term extension with the team.
As much as Carmelo wants to be close to home, he also cares about winninSigning off on a trade to the Nets could essentially put him in a similar position that he's in with Denver.
Moreover, by going to the East, Anthony could potentially have a much tougher time going up against other Eastern Conference powerhouses such as the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and the New York Knicks.
As bad as the Lakers have played this season, they're still the second best team out of the Western Conference and a possible trade for Anthony could help shake things up for a team desperately looking for a spark.
Should the Lakers move forward with an Anthony for Andrew Bynum trade, Carmelo is instantly placed in a winning situation.
Anthony won't need to pine for a pairing with CP3 and Amar'e Stoudamire in New York when he'll be playing alongside Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol.
No. The Lakers aren't the Knicks, they're even better.
This could be a win-win for all parties involved including wife LaLa. Rumor has it that LaLa is the one that's most uncomfortable with their situation in Denver.
In Los Angeles, LaLa can keep on working on her career as a television host and Anthony can become a part of a winning franchise.
To make this possible trade even more appealing, TMZ reports that the happy couple actually have a home in Los Angeles, which they bought a year ago.
To recap: they have a home here, LaLa can mingle with Hollywood's elite and Melo can play for a championship and get his extension.
What's there not to like?
They may even get another reality show out of it.
