Relegation Watch: Can Derby Turn It Around?
Since the first week of the 2007-2008 EPL campaign, most observers have picked Derby County as a heavy favorite for relegation. These arguments seemed justifiable, considering Derby only made it into the Premiership via a playoff. And so far the critics have been correct, as the club find themselves in last place with only one win on the season.
With a four months remaining in the grueling EPL campaign, there's no doubt that time is of the essence. If Derby County wish to play Premier League football next season, they need to earn points in a hurry.
To their credit, the club look to be moving in the right direction, as they just signed Robbie Savage from Blackburn Rovers. The Derby website says they've also signed French winger Laurent Robert, who is currently without a club after leaving Levante of the Spanish league.
Is it possible that with a few key signings the Rams could somehow seize a spot in the Premiership next season...or is it all little, too late?
Only time will tell.
