Even though I am neither an LSU or an Ohio St. fan, (actually I kind of hate both schools because of their elimination of my Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the past two seasons bowl games) I was still looking towards this game.
This was going to be a battle of the young and the old, Ohio State with it's youth and quickness, and LSU with its age and experience.
LSU may have come out on top at the end of the game, but i still think Ohio St. deserves to be number 2 in all polls. Yes, they may have lost to Illinois, who got crushed by another one of ND's rivals, USC, but they stuck it out in a very entertaining game with the best team in the country.
With this win, LSU becomes the first team to win 2 BCS National Championships. Also, I’m pretty sure it also makes Ohio St. the first team to lose 2 BCS National Championships, are they not?
We also have to look ahead to the future, where Ohio St. will still be a powerhouse and LSU may be good but not as good as this year due to their loss of key player Early Doucet.
In conclusion, none of this matters because, next year, Sophomore (currently freshman) Quarterback Jimmy Clausen will lead the young Irish to yet another Championship.
