The Montreal Canadiens have sent rookie goaltender Carey Price and centre Kyle Chipchura to their AHL affiliate the Hamilton Bulldogs.

For Price it is deemed a 'conditioning' assignment.

With the Canadiens playing loose schedule over the next two weeks, GM Bob Gainey and coach Guy Carbonneau felt it would be more advantageous to play in Hamilton where their next four games will be at home.

They will then re-evaluate the situation in the coming two weeks.

Jaroslav Halak will make his second stint with the Canadiens this season. He was called up earlier but spent the term on the bench while Cristobal Huet nursed a groin injury.

With Price the heir apparent to the Habs goaltending throne, this will also offer opportunity to

This will also be Corey Locke's second trip up. His first trip was cut short when he was brought up as a last minute replacement for an ailing Saku Koivu. Unfortunately, his gear did not make it to New York in time for a game against the Rangers.

Locke leads the Bulldogs in scoring and has been effective in Hamilton in the face-off department; a category the Canadiens as a whole have struggled.
