Super Bowl Ads: Super Bowl Commercials Once Again A Roaring Success
Super Bowl Ads Offered Plenty of Range, Not to Mention Plenty of Laughs
So what was your favorite Super Bowl commercial this year?
This is a question that seemingly everyone utters at some point in the hours and days immediately following the conclusion of a given Super Bowl, and the answers people give are hardly uniform.
This year, however, the buzz surrounding the commercials for Super Bowl XLV started building several days before the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers even kicked off. Such is the wonder of YouTube, which famously provided Volkswagen's mini-Darth Vader commercial with well over 10 million views after it was uploaded earlier in the week.
Of course, there were still quite a few gems to be found, namely the Bridgestone commercial (above) that tackled every office worker's worst nightmare. It's already being viewed as an instant classic.
Naturally, what would a pop culture extravaganza like the Super Bowl be without your daily dose of Kim Kardashian? Such was the thinking of the good folks at Skechers, who used Kim to craft one of the sexiest commercials in recent memory.
There were also plenty of movie trailers that made their debut, namely the memorable spot for Transformers: Dark of the Moon, as well as the one for Captain America: the First Avenger that featured the first footage of the film to be shown to a mass audience.
Because this year's Super Bowl was such a good game, it's obviously quite difficult to argue that the commercials were the best part of the whole thing, as has been the case in certain years past. But thanks to the epic fails of Christina Aguilera and the Black Eyed Peas, it's probably safe to say that those with no real interest in football who happened to tune in were probably satisfied.
And honestly, isn't that what the Super Bowl is all about?
Probably not. Regardless, you can catch up with all the Super Bowl commercials by checking out our list of the Top 50 Commercials From Super Bowl XLV.
