Always An Incident When United Visit Stamford Bridge

There always seems to be some sort of incident when Manchester United visit Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea.

Last season, Frenchman Patrice Evra was involved in a post-match brawl with Chelsea groundsman Sam Bethell, after the latter apparently racially abused Evra.

Also after that game, but before the 'Battle of Stamford Bridge', Rio Ferdinand got into trouble for kicking a football at a female steward in frustration. He was later forced to apologize to the steward.

And now this season, there was another post match incident. Manchester United's team bus was attacked while on the journey home.

As the United team bus left the Bridge, a bottle was hurled at the windscreen as the bus made it's way across London so they could continue their journey up to the North West.

United officials confirmed the bus suffered a cracked windscreen, but said that nobody was hurt in the incident.

"Yes. There was an incident but the matter is now in the hands of the police," said a club spokesman.

So it seems that United cannot escape without incident from their visits to the Bridge, and one can only wonder, what will happen next time? Another brawl? United's team bus crashing? Who knows what else will happen in what seems to be the 'Curse of Stamford Bridge'.
