Super Bowl Ads: Doritos Commercial a Huge Hit
Super Bowl Ads Drawing Praise, Particularly Doritos' "Pug Attack" Commercial.
As each Super Bowl commercial airs today, viewers have the option of going to Hulu.com and voting on each ad.
So far, Doritos' "Pug Attack" video appears to be the No. 1 commercial in voters' minds.
In the ad, a girl's boyfriend is seen egging on her pet pug to jump at a bag of Doritos he holds beyond a clear door.
Of course, his mission is to see the dog hit the door face first.
This doesn't go as planned, as the pug busts through the door, leaving the poor guy smashed underneath.
The 30-second ad, which is going for $3 million this year, has garnered an 100 percent approval rating so far on Hulu.
Taking second place thus far is Pepsi Max's "Love Hurts" commercial (96 percent), which ends up with an attractive girl getting knocked out by a Pepsi can.
Honestly, I didn't like either one of them.
Maybe this speaks to what us Americans like, violence in one form or another, whether it be by pug or by Pepsi cans.
Of course, that should have already been known, given that we love watching a game where giant men smash each other into oblivion.
It appears as if advertisers have done their research this year.
