Puppy Bowl VII Is Today, But Is the Puppy Bowl A Waste of Time?

Today is the Super Bowl, everyone knows that, but the Puppy Bowl is something that not as many people are paying attention to.

If you don't know, the Puppy Bowl, which will be in its seventh incarnation today, is nothing more than a bunch of cute puppies put in a model stadium and allowed to play with each other as commentators talk about what's taking place on the fake gridiron.

It's quite possibly the biggest waste of programming hours this side of Mind of Mencia. On Super Bowl Sunday, everyone watches the big game, even if it's just for the ads. Everyone loves puppies, but no one needs to tune in to watch them play on television.

It's so stupid and I really don't know what to say to the people at Animal Planet, who somehow thought this was a good idea. I'm even more baffled that there was enough of a viewership that the event is airing for the seventh time.

Sometimes it's better not to think about these things, otherwise we may pass out from the pain. I will not be tuning into this event and there is nothing that could possibly make me watch it. It's the corniest, stupidest thing I've ever heard of.

Bring back the Bud Bowl and maybe we'll talk.
