Super Bowl 2011, Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Sunday's Top Sports Buzz
Well, we've finally made it: Super Sunday.
The biggest day of the American sporting calendar. The entire country seems to stop on this day, the same way Canada stopped during the Gold Medal men's hockey game last year in the Olympics and the entire world seems to stop during the World Cup.
Okay, those may be bad analogies. But the point is there are very few single-day events that capture the imagination of so many people like the Super Bowl does. It's become a symbol of how big the game of football, the NFL and the actual event has come from its humble beginnings and how intertwined it is in American culture.
Enough with the musings, it's time to get to business.
Every Super Bowl is overly hyped, but with two of the most storied franchises in the sport meeting in the Super Bowl for the first time, the hype machine has been working overtime. And in a few hours, 25 minutes and 45.3 seconds, the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers will try to add to each team's storied history with another title.
This is the place for all the news heading into the Big Game and the other news surrounding the sports world on this Sunday. Yes, there are things other than the Super Bowl going on today.
So read on for the very latest.
