UFC 126 saw the UFC debut of up-and-coming featherweight fighter Chad Mendes.  Mendes came into this match with a 9-0 MMA record and proved that he was a much better fighter by overpowering Japanese import Michihiro Omigawa during their match.

During the first round Mendes didn't hold back.  According to MMAFighting.com's Live Blog, Mendes was on the offensive early, going for an early takedown.  But Omigawa was able to hold him off.

By the second round Mendes kept up with his aggressive approach, landing hard jabs and even causing Omigawa to bleed from his nose.  He clearly dominated the second round.

The third round was another dominating effort for Mendes and Omigawa just couldn't find a way to fight back against Mendes' attack.  But he somehow found a way to last the whole 15 minutes.

The decision came in at 30-27 in Mendes' favor.  Proving what everyone already knew, Omigawa was no match against Mendes.

Mendes is most likely going to face the winner of the Jose Aldo vs. Mark Hominick fight for the WEC featherweight belt.
