Kelly Kelly Getting Fired: A 'Push' In The Right Direction?

Kelly Kelly is arguably the face of the current divas division; doing for the PG era what Trish Stratus and Lita did for the Attitude era.

Though her in-ring and mic skills could use some some improvement it doesn't stop her from being one of the most likable characters on WWE's roster. Every time she appears backstage or you hear the 'holla holla' of her entrance theme she gets a huge pop from the audience.

The only thing that keeps her from being the female face of the company is her lack of title. But is this about to change?

This Friday's Smackdown provided Kelly Kelly with arguably the greatest moment of her career so far, by picking up a win in the show's main event.

She was faced with the task of taking on both Layla and Michelle McCool to help Edge defend his World Championship against Dolph Ziggler in a 3-on-2 Handicap match. With Edge not allowed to use his spear, it was fairly predictable that Kelly Kelly was going to be the one to get the win but when she hit the spear on Layla the crowd went insane!

With this win Kelly proved her backstage critics wrong, such as Dolph Ziggler, Vickie Guerrero, LayCool and even Edge, by showing that she has got what it takes to compete with the best. Unfortunately her triumph was short lived as she was fired by Vickie almost immediately after the match, but don't think this is the last you'll see of her.

Kelly Kelly's in-ring competing has been sparse over the past couple of months with her only taking part in matches that last around two minutes, like pretty much all of diva matches. So when I saw her come out at the Royal Rumble and take out Vickie at ringside I was quite surprised, but not as surprised as when I saw that she would be main-eventing that week's Smackdown with Edge. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was wondering why the hell she was being brought into the Edge/Ziggler angle when she was already in a storyline with Drew McIntyre, it was just a little bit random.

As mentioned before, out of all the divas why pick one of the poorest in ring competitors for this main event clash? In the end it didn't matter because both me and the majority of the WWE universe thought the match was incredibly entertaining and Kelly Kelly looked as if she had improved a great deal with a stellar performance.

Where is she heading now? Personally I can only see two roads which she can head down.

My first idea is being placed in feud between Drew McIntyre and  Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship, but the only problem is Alberto Del Rio.

With the Mexican Icon taking on the WHC at Wrestlemania there is no room for an Edge/McIntyre clash, and if there was, I doubt it would be interesting enough for the biggest event on the wrestling calendar. So if this feud is going to happen it won't be til the Extreme Rules PPV or even later. Kelly Kelly wouldn't have much ring action but she would get bucket loads of screen time as well as bring some face power to whoever she manages.

My other idea is setting her up for a much needed title win at Wrestlemania.

The only reason I thought the WWE hadn't given her the Divas or Women's Championship yet was so that it would be a huge deal when she eventually did, much like what they did with Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit. A win at the 'Grandaddy of them all' is just what she needs to solidify herself as the face of the WWE's divas division.

Though it all depends how she wins the title. If the WWE do what they always do at Wrestlemania by sticking every diva in the ring at once in a battle royal with a ratio of 2 botches per second, her win would be a bit disappointing. But if she overcomes the odds like she did last night by beating LayCool or another dominant heel, the celebration would be fantastic. IMAGINE CONFETTI AND FIREWORKS!!! Lets just hope she doesn't face Eve for the title, snore...

Either way I can only see Kelly Kelly moving her way up the company. Her ring work is improving and her mic skills are likely to follow suit, so hopefully the WWE have a diva who is not just marketable but also watchable...

Please feel free to leave a comment whether it is how crap my predictions are or your own opinion on where the B-E-A-utiful Kelly Kelly will be headed next. Thank You.
