Kramer SchmidtContributor ISeptember 20, 2008

With the Twins in the thick of a pennate race, two big reasons have to be the 3 and 4 hitters in the Twins lineup, Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau. In 2006, when he won his first batting title Mauer hit .344 with 13 HR and 84 RBI in 140 games. So far this year, through 137 games Mauer is batting .328 with 9 HR and 79 RBI. Also in 2006, Justin Morneau finished the year with a .321 BA with 34 HR and 130 RBI in 157 games. So far this year through 154 games he is hitting .311 with 23 HR and 128 RBI in 154 games. Should both of these guys get consideration for the A.L. MVP award, you bet they should.
