Ny Rangers 2008-2009 Season Preview

Matt AmlingContributor ISeptember 20, 2008

After losing Sean Avery and Jaromir Jagr, life as a Ranger fan seemed like it would be tough this season.  But with key additions during this off season, the 2008-2009 Rangers look ready to play and to compete in the playoffs.

During the off-season, the Rangers added Marcus Naslund, Wade Redden, and Nikolai Zherdev. Naslund and Zherdev are going to be very important parts of this year's offense, and Wade Redden is an all-star defenseman that will really solidify the Rangers' defense in front of Henrik Lundqvist.

Besides newcomers, the Rangers also resigned back defenseman Paul Mara, and forward Nigel Dawes.

One thing is for sure: This group of Rangers will be playing hard and fighting for 60 minutes of every game, and they will definitely not disappoint the Garden faithful.
