Super Bowl 2011: Dallas Ice Storm Makes Everyone Rethink New York City

Super Bowl 2011: Does the NFL still think a New York City Super Bowl is a good idea? An ice storm in Dallas? Not exactly the way you draw up Super Bowl plans. There is a reason why San Diego, New Orleans and Miami are usually the sites of the Super Bowl. They are warm weather towns that don't get hit with bad weather.
Now that Dallas is in a ice storm you have to wonder if the NFL is thinking what a terrible idea an NYC Super Bowl is going to be. Sure, anything can happen with weather, but aren't you increasing the odds of having a game decided by the elements?
Certainly the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers know a lot about bad weather, but this game is too important to be decided in the snow. Now, while it won't really be a factor, it could be a factor in New York. It's a completely open air stadium. This won't be bad for just the players, but it will be bad for the media too. Weather creates cancelled flights, delays, and can shut down cities. Even cities like New York. The NFL invests too much time and money into this game to let a pretty controllable force, like the weather, influence or hamper the event.
