Senior Bowl: Winners and Losers From the 2011 Senior Bowl

The 2011 Senior Bowl has just gone final, and it was the South coming away with the win by a final score of 24-10.

Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder, who threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns, was named the MVP.

That's all well and good, but it doesn't really matter. Instead, what everyone really wants to know is who the real winners and losers were.

In other words, we're talking NFL Draft stocks.

The biggest winner was undoubtedly Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller. He came into the game with all sorts of hype on his shoulders, and he didn't disappoint. He was all over the field, and it seemed like he was in the middle of every single big defensive stop for the South. He will be a first round pick for sure, possibly in the Top 10.

Ponder was another big winner, but primarily because the other five quarterbacks in the game were just that bad. He can also thank Miami wide receiver Leonard Hankerson for most of his success, as Hankerson caught five balls for 99 yards and a touchdown. His draft stock definitely improved.

As for the losers, most of them belong to the North. Chief among them is Washington quarterback Jake Locker, who completed six of his 10 passes for 98 yards, but also had two fumbles. He still has the tools, but it's pretty obvious at this point that he's going to be a project.

In addition to Locker, the big names on the North offensive line didn't look so good. Boston College tackle Anthony Castonzo was routinely caught in between all afternoon, and he looked silly on a couple of plays (see Brooks Reed's sack).

It was also a rough day for the North running backs. Both Oklahoma's DeMarco Murrary and Oklahoma State's Kendall Hunter got just two carries each, and they combined for -4 yards.

In any case, those are the only real standouts. It was a pretty sloppy game from start to finish, and actually pretty devoid of story lines.
