NHL All Star Game 2011: Patrick Sharp Emerging as the Early Favorite for MVP
Patrick Sharp, representing the Chicago Blackhawks and Team Staal at this year's All Star game is quickly emerging as the favorite to take home the most valuable player award.
Sharp set an All Star game record in the first period, recording three assists in one period. Sharp had helpers on the goals by Paul Stastny, Patrik Elias and Claude Giroux.
Sharp then added a goal in the second period, putting a wrist shot past Jonas Hiller at the 1:18 mark of the period.
The MVP will be voted on by the fans via text message.
