NHL All Star Game 2011: Team Staal Starts Off With Four Quick Goals
Carolina Hurricane and Team Staal Captain Eric Staal had the first shot of the game and much to the chagrin of the home crowd he is stopped by Marc-Andre Fleury.
Alexander Ovechkin was able to keep his NHL All Star Game scoring streak alive as he put away the first goal at the 50 second mark. Ovechkin has now scored in each of his All Star appearances.
Paul Stastny was then able to give Team Staal a 2-0 lead at the 2:48 mark.
Patrik Elias was left wide open in front of Fleury and he easily slammed one past the goalie to make it 3-0.
Claude Giroux put another past Fleury after moving in on the breakaway and Team Staal took a quick 4-0 lead less than six minutes into the first period.
