Rich "Ace" Franklin.

He stands at 6'1", is 33 years old, and weighs in at 185 lbs.

He's a man who has only lost to two different people in his entire Mixed Martial Arts career.

He's the type of guy who doesn't let all the hype go to his head, and he is the former UFC middleweight champion.

Franklin lost his belt to Anderson 'Spider' Silva, after Silva defeated him to joining the  isolated ranks of men able to beat Franklin.

Anderson beat Franklin for the first time at UFC 64, where Franklin was defending his title against Silva. Silva won in the first round of the bout, at the 2:59 mark by technical knockout.

The two fighters met again at UFC 77, in Franklin's home town of Cincinnati.

Franklin is, in my opinion, one of the most recognisable faces in the UFC, if not in all of Mixed Martial Arts. In the first round of Rich Franklin's fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 77, Silva controlled the ring, knocking Franklin down at the end of the round. In the second round, Silva unloaded with knees to the body and knocked Franklin down again before the referee stepped in.

Franklin's next fight is rumored to be at UFC 82.

  1. Gee, since Anderon is fighting Henderson that night, I'd think Rich would be smart enough to keep his distance from the arena to avoid possible flashbacks that could keep him from performing at his best, assuming that he is no longer suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome from the last time he saw Anderson. Who on earth is he fighting?

    1. No idea. i don't think it's been announced yet?
