NASCAR By the Numbers: Day 24 in the Countdown to the Daytona 500

We are counting down the days until the Daytona 500 using some fun facts. 

NUMBER 24

  • Car number driven by Jeff Gordon since 1993.  Jeff Gordon is a four-time Cup Series winner.  He has 82 career wins—six of which are at the Daytona 500.  Gordon has racked up a staggering 69 pole wins throughout his career.
  • Races won in NASCAR's three national stock car divisions during 2010 by Kyle Busch. He completed an unprecedented three-race sweep at Bristol Motor Speedway to make NASCAR history.
  • Wins from a pole by Darrell Waltrip.  Waltrip's wins run a mere second to Richard Petty's 61 pole wins. 
  • Number of poles won by Alan Kulwicki.
  • 1:24 is the most popular scale size for die-cast toy vehicles collected by NASCAR fans.
