Michael Vick: First Endorsement Deal a Big Step in Vick's Redemption

Michael Vick signed an endorsement deal this week, his first since leaving prison.
While Vick forever will be vilified by a large group of people—and that's their right, because for some, Vick's crimes are unforgivable—Vick is an example of the United States correctional system doing its job.
Vick did hard time and seems to have come out of it a better person. He's not angry or resentful, lashing out at everybody and acting like his crimes were no big deal. He's been genuinely contrite, and he hasn't backed away from the topic when it's brought up.
Vick now is the spokesman for Unequal Technologies, the maker of the pads Vick wore after his rib injuries this season. The company cited President Obama reaching out to Vick as one of the factors that went into choosing Vick as their spokesman.
A redemption story always has a bottom, and Vick was there. But now he's back and he's making the most of his second chance at life. Who is anyone to deny him that?
