...There is something eerily similar to Joe Ganz running the option as there is to Super Mario hopped up on star power...was Alex Henery trying to do his best Byron Bennett impression with his wide right 35-yard attempt in the first quarter? Wow! That thing ended up someone near Shakers. One cranapple please and a sh**load of ones...Marlon Lucky showed why he may be more impressive on the next level than he has been in the collegiate ranks. Where Roy Helu explodes through the line into the open field, Lucky's NFL patience follows blocking schemes and offers a reliable check down out of the backfield. His first quarter TD dissected the defensive line like you see great backs do on Sundays...Still wondering why Shawn Watson choose New Mexico State to pull out the Lucky-to-Crouch (I mean Ganz) throwback TD. Can't help but thinking that kind of dazzle could have been a firestarter against Missouri...4th & goal at the 3-yard line nursing a 21-0 lead, Pelini decides to go for it instead of icing a 24-nil deficit going into half. A gamble like that may be appropriate against the Aggies, but will cost games against opportunistic Big 12 foes...I still don't know whether to be more embarrassed by Larry the Cable Guy as the face of Husker Nation or laugh at him...Marcus Mendoza's burst and break away speed is very reminiscent of classic Big Red I-backs (Rozier, Phillips, and Green). The stable is obviously stocked at RB for the next 3 years...Patrick Witt does a mean Rex Grossman impression. His fumbled snaps cost the Blankshirts a confidence building shutout...New Mexico State Coach Hal Mumme and his towel wrapped snuggly around his neck could possibly be the love child of Jerry Tarkanian and Lil Mac's trainer Doc...Shawn Watson called a perfectly clean game in classic West Coast style with 44 rushes opening up 24 passing opportunities...Prior to Notre Dame's 35-17 victory over Rick Rod, Coach Charlie Weis said in regard to the importance of the Michigan rivalry, "It's not just the tradition of the schools. It's locale. It's recruiting. There's a whole number of factors." Uhh Charlie, there is nothing in your life low-cal. Maybe you and T. Brady can rub Ben-Gay into each other's torn ACLs...Last time BYU hammered UCLA that bad, polygamy was alive and well, know what I'm saying Mrs. and Mrs. Romney (pictured right)?
