The man is MONEY up until crunch time. In crunch time? Not so much...
9 (9) Colts 1-1
A friend of mine made a pretty interesting (I think, anyway) observation about the Colts.
He compared them to future NBA Hall of Famer Reggie Miller. Reggie Miller could look bad for almost the entire game. Sometimes awful. But then he’d drain a three. As soon as he hit that three, the other team knew they were done. Because he never stopped at one three.
Once he got hot, he got REALLY hot.
The Colts are the same way. All it takes is a single good drive to wake up the Colts. As soon as they scored the first touchdown, you knew the game was over. They were going to win.
Anyway, after thinking about it, the comparison is surprisingly spot-on.
10 (-) Tennessee 2-0
I’m not sure how they do it. I’m really not. But the Titans just keep winning.
I don’t know how they’re 2-0. I don’t know how they made the playoffs last season. I don’t know how they’re surviving what can only be described as a tumultuous quarterback situation.
They’ve managed to do what they’ve done because they have a great head coach and an underrated defense. It’s impressive, but we’ll see how long they can last without a legit offense.
Barely Missed
Carolina 2-0
I had to give the Panthers some love. While they’re not one of the 10 best teams in the NFL, they have to be the biggest early season surprise. If they beat the Vikings this week, it’s time to start taking the Panthers seriously as a player in the NFC.
Dropped Out
(8) Saints 1-1
Did you see the Washington Redskins’ offense against the Giants? Did you see them against the Saints? Any more questions?
Bottom Three
30. Cincinnati 0-2
Someone needs to get fired. Preferably the owner.
31. Lions 0-2
Everyone needs to get fired, including the owner.
32. Rams 0-2
If the Rams played USC, would they look any better than Ohio State did last weekend?
