Drew Brees: Played 2010 With MCL Injury
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton stated that quarterback Drew Brees played much of 2010 with a low grade MCL injury, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Odd timing for Payton to declare such news as Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has been vilified over the past 12 hours for sitting out just about the entire second half with a Grade II MCL sprain in his left knee.
Although Cutler’s injury does sound more severe, it is still interesting that Brees was able to play through the pain for ‘most of the 2010 season,’ while Love Smith apparently decided to keep his star franchise quarterback on the sidelines with the season on the line.
