Some might anticipate how this article is going to start.
Will I lash out at the numerous Hawai'i fans who made wildly assumptive omments on my preview articles—or will I, like a man and true Bulldawg, humbly say only that "I told you so."
And my preview was exactly right. The game came down to the Georgia front four's ability to generate pressure—which they did to the tune of 8 sacks and 7 other knockdowns and 6 turnovers—and the secondary's ability to tackle in the open field.
Georgia proved to be the mightier team on New Year's day, and Colt's stock options may have decreased as a result of his poor outing. Can you blame the guy? His O-line's blocking scheme for even three or four-man rushes was pathetic. I could have blocked Marcus Howard better than that.
It was painful for me to watch—and I cannot imagine how sore Brennan had to have been.
Aside from noting the clear-cut Georgia win, I would like to commend the Hawai'i faithful for showing up. They were some of the nicest, most passionate fans I have ever met. We tailgated beside an RV full of Warrios all day and Bourbon Street was an enjoyable experience for both sets of fans.
I even taught a rather large Samoan man (larger than me and I am 6'4, 315 lbs) how to do the Soulja' Boy, and he taught me a Ha'ka. Good times were had by all—especially those innocent Louisianans, who witnessed all of the hilarity from a safe distance.
In the end, the Sugar Bowl proved and disproved a lot of speculation. Georgia has to be one of the three best teams in the nation, along with of USC and LSU. Hawai'i had a good year and should be proud. Last, but not least, Georgia has to be a favorite for taking it all next year.
With that, here's to an awesome season. Gooooo Dawgs!
