Boston Red Sox Beat Toronto Blue Jays 4, TOR 3; Move One Game Back in Al East
Jon Lester and the rest of the Red Sox held off Roy Halladay and the Toronto Blue Jays for a 4-3 win.
Kevin Youkilis tallied the all important sacrifice fly insurance run in the eighth inning as the Jays scored two in the ninth off of Jonathan Papelbon to make it a one run game. It was Papelbon’s 38th save of the season.
Star of the Game: Lester
Eight innings pitched, four hits, only one run, two walks, and six strikeouts for his 15th win of the season.
Next Game: Now or never
Boston is one game back in the division to the Tampa Bay Rays with a three game set coming up. The Red Sox goal for this series at the Trop should be to sweep.
