Saints Lose In Heartbreaker, 29-24

The New Orleans Saints lost today in a heart breaker at FedEx Field against the Washington Redskinds 29-24. I say that it was a heart breaker because in the third quarter Reggie Bush returned a punt for a touchdown and it looked like that the Saints were in control of the game but in the fourth quarter it was all Redskins.

Drew Brees completed 22 of 33 passes for 216 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. One of those interceptions was thrown late in the fourth quarter on what potentially could've been a game winning drive. The touchdown was thrown to Robert Meachem who replaced the injured Marquis Colston.

Redskins' running back Clinton Portis ran wild today racking up 96 yards on 21 attempts and 2 touchdowns. Redksins' quarterback Jason Campbell completed 24 passes out of 36 attempts for 321 yards and a touchdown. That touchdown, a 60 plus yarder was the score that put the 'Skins in the lead.

The Saints' leading receiver was Reggie Bush who caught 7 passes for 63 yards. Jeremy Shockey caught 2 passes for 22 yards and he fumbled once. The leading runner for the Saints was Reggie Bush who rushed 10 times for 28 yards which says something about the Saints' rushing game.

The leading tackler for the Saints was former Jet Jonathan Vilma who had 10 tackles and 6 assists. Rookie Tracy Porter had 8 tackles and 1 assist.

Up next for the Saints, the Denver Broncos in Denver.
