Ravens vs. Steelers: Live NFL Divisional Round Scores, Analysis and Reaction
Karl Walter/Getty Images
Ravens vs. Steelers is the first matchup of the NFL divisional round, and gets things going with one of the fiercest rivalries in the NFL.
The Steelers managed to take home the AFC North title, but the Ravens matched their 12-4 record this season. When the teams clashed in the regular season they split the season series, with neither game being decided by more than three points.
With such a heated rivalry coming down the pipe, there's plenty to look at and talk about before things get underway.
Can the Ravens score another road win over their hated division rival, on the biggest stage? Will the Steelers defense be able to stop the balanced Baltimore offense? How will Troy Polamalu, the Steelers star safety, fare with his injured Achilles tendon?
We here at Bleacher Report will be here all afternoon, giving you an in-depth look at both of these teams before kickoff, then bringing you live score updates and analysis throughout the game while also answering your questions about the game.
Let's get started, shall we?

Ben Roethlisberger, the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, didn't have his best game ever. He was on the run more often than not, and by the end of the game, it showed.
But when the final whistle blew, Big Ben had done enough to ensure his Steelers would be moving on.
After a brutal start which saw Roethlisberger cough up a fumble that directly led to the Ravens taking a 14-7 lead, the Steelers quarterback settled into a groove, throwing a pair of third-quarter touchdown passes to bring Pittsburgh back from the brink of elimination.
Big Ben managed to do all of this despite weathering six sacks and eight other hits to his massive frame, including a couple that saw him get up a little slowly.
When the dust settled, Roethlisberger had racked up 226 passing yards and two touchdowns, while avoiding turnovers other than the one he made in the first quarter.

Hines Ward might be getting old, but the Steelers' veteran wideout showed Saturday that he can still get the job done.
Ward proved quite the irritant for the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, in the ears of their defense constantly. Then, to make matters worse, Ward delivered a crucial touchdown catch late in what was ultimately a 31-24 win for Pittsburgh in the AFC divisional clash.
Pittsburgh trailed 21-14 late in the third quarter, when Ward, who had barely been anything more than a pest, hauled in a nine-yard touchdown catch to tie the score and complete the Steelers' improbable comeback.
Ward has seen his effectiveness wane this season as younger receivers have caught Ben Roethlisberger's eye. But, his three catches for 25 yards and a score in this one could have been the most important plays he's made all season long.

Terrell Suggs was one of the biggest talkers in the week leading up to Saturday's Ravens- Steelers clash.
Unlike some of his offensive teammates, Suggs was able to back it up. The Baltimore Ravens' linebacker wreaked havoc all game long in the Pittsburgh backfield, racking up 6 tackles in the game.
While that might not seem terribly impressive, consider this: of those six tackles, three were for loss. Two others were sacks, and Suggs hit the quarterback on two other occasions.
Suggs had been mouthing off about disliking the Steelers throughout the week, and said he couldn't wait to ply them again in this one.
In the end, though, Suggs' efforts weren't enough, as the Ravens fell 31-24, thanks to a second-half collapse sure to be amongst the most infamous in NFL history.

Antonio Brown snagged a key 58-yard catch late in Saturday's clash with the Baltimore Ravens, to help the Pittsburgh Steelers grab a 31-24 win.
The Steelers faced a third-and-19 from their own 38-yard line, when Roethlisberger fired a bomb deep down the right sideline. Brown accelerated past the defenders and reeled in the catch, which stuck the Steelers at the Baltimore four-yard line.
Five plays later, running back Rashard Mendenhall powered his way into the end zone to put the Steelers up for good.
Brown is a rookie out of Central Michigan, who hasn't been seen much in 2010-11. He'd become more of a factor in the offense by season's end, but that catch alone marked a career high in yards gained.
The Steelers will go on to face the winner of Sunday's Jets-Patriots clash in the AFC Championship game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers used a defensive tour de force and a late touchdown run from Rashard Mendenhall helped to cap off their improbable 31-24 win.
The Steelers trailed 21-7 at halftime, but used three Baltimore turnovers in the third quarter to tie the game and take the lead. They held Baltimore to -4 yards in the third quarter, as they vaulted back into the game.
In the early-going, things looked to be shifting in the Ravens' favor. After tying the score at 7-7 in the first quarter, the Ravens capitalized on a pair of turnovers inside the 20 to jump out to a 21-7 lead, which they would hold at halftime.
But, in the third quarter, the Steelers' defense would assert their dominance, forcing a Ray Rice fumble, an interception from Joe Flacco, and a botched snap. They converted those three turnovers into the 17 points they needed to take a 24-21 lead.
But Baltimore wasn't done yet. On a Steeler punt in the fourth quarter, the Ravens appeared to have taken the lead, thanks to a Lardarius Webb punt return. But, it was called back, and Baltimore had to settle for a tie and field goal.
On Pittsburgh's ensuing possession, the Steelers used a 58-yard catch by seldom used wideout Antonio Brown to move inside the Baltimore 10, and would score on a one-yard run by Mendenhall.
The Ravens could have won the game, but on fourth-and-18, T.J. Houshmanzadeh dropped a sure first down catch to give Pittsburgh the ball and the win.
The Steelers now move on to the AFC title game, where they will take on the winner of Sunday's Jets-Patriots clash.

The Ravens vs. Steelers AFC divisional clash has just gone final, after T.J. Houshmandzadeh dropped a sure catch to give the Steelers possession back to run out the clock.
The drop marks one of the worst collapses in playoff history, as the Steelers managed to overcome a 21-7 halftime deficit to outscore the Ravens 24-3 in the second half of the game.
Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco hit Houshmanzadeh squarely, but the ball squirted out of his arms and hit the turf on a fourth- and-18, handing the ball to the AFC North champs.
The Steelers kneeled on the ball to run out the remaining clock, and as it ticked away, Houshmandzadeh could be seen with his head in his hands on the Ravens bench.
The win puts Pittsburgh back in the AFC title game, where they'll face the winner of Sunday's Jets-Patriots clash.

With less than two minutes to go in the Ravens vs. Steelers clash, Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall bulled his way into the end zone to give Pittsburgh their biggest lead of the game, 31-24.
The run came just five plays after the Steelers hit on a 58-yard catch to put them inside the 10 yard line.
Mendenhall bulled into the end zone for his second short touchdown run of the game, as the Steelers matched their largest lead of the night.
Now, the Ravens find themselves in need of a touchdown, with just over a minute remaining, in order to avoid a historic collapse in this one.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' drive (and possibly their playoff hopes) were just saved by Antonio Brown. The rookie wideout from Western Michigan pulled in a beautiful 58 yard catch from Ben Roethlisberger on a third-and-19, with two minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
The bomb helped Pittsburgh get into scoring position near the end of the game.
Brown had just 16 catches for 167 yards on the year, but may have just made the play of Pittsburgh's season.
Now, the Steelers have the ball at the one-yard line with just over a minute remaining in the game. Can they punch it into the end zone, or will the Ravens hold the line?

The Ravens vs. Steelers divisional clash has heated up in a big way, after the Ravens managed to re-tie the game with a Billy Cundiff field goal with just under four minutes to play in the game.
However, Baltimore's actual goal, re-taking the lead, came up short after Anquan Boldin dropped a guaranteed touchdown pass in the end zone on third down, which forced Baltimore to kick the field goal.
The Ravens now need another defensive stop on this possession, if they hope to come out of Heinz Field with a win.

The Baltimore Ravens looked like they were down for the count, after a Joe Flacco pick helped the Pittsburgh Steelers re-tie the score at 21-21 at the end of the third quarter. Then, the Steelers recovered a Joe Flacco fumble, and looked sure to take a lead.
While Pittsburgh did do just that, the Ravens did something that could be enough to keep them in this game: they held the Steelers to a field goal.
The Ravens couldn't get anything going in the third quarter, but that defensive stand in the red zone could be enough to jump start this team into a win.
That wasn't what Pittsburgh wanted, but it could be enough to give the Ravens a boost. Given the way the third quarter went for them, they could definitely use whatever help they can get.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were reeling coming into the second half of their AFC divisional clash with the Baltimore Ravens. They trailed 21-7, and hadn't looked like themselves at all.
Now, after a third quarter in which they scored 14 unanswered points and held the Ravens to negative yardage, it would appear that they have fully recovered from their malaise.
The Steelers now hold not only the momentum, but they have the ball deep in Baltimore territory. Can they take their first lead since the first quarter?
They've just converted a first down on a crucial fourth-and one, now they just need to find the end zone.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially taken control of their AFC divisional clash with the Baltimore Ravens.
After trailing 21-7 at the half, the Steelers have capitalized on a pair of turnovers by the Ravens to tie the game at 21.
After a Ray Rice fumble led to a Pittsburgh touchdown, quarterback Joe Flacco promptly fired a pick on the first play of Baltimore's next possession.
It took the Steelers all of five plays after that to score, and the drive was capped by an eight-yard touchdown pass.
The Ravens are officially reeling now; if they want to have any chance of winning this one, they have to get their momentum going again.

The Ravens vs. Steelers clash has taken a sudden, and somewhat unexpected turn.
After struggling for much of the first half, the Steelers appear to have taken control of the game after forcing a fumble and scoring, then forcing a three-and-out and a Ravens punt.
Now, the question is: can Pittsburgh capitalize on the massive swing in momentum? They are in position to re-tie the game with just over six minutes left in the third quarter.
They still need a touchdown, but with momentum so far in their favor, will they be able to take advantage?
After all, the Ravens have largely stopped the Steelers' drives in this game, unless Pittsburgh is close to the end zone to begin with.

The Ravens vs. Steelers clash just got a lot more interesting.
Facing a third-and-14, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco hit Ray Rice in the flat. Rice took off, only to have the ball punched out and recovered by Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley at the 23-yard line.
It took Pittsburgh all of two plays to score: a 14-yard scamper by Rashard Mendenhall, and a nine-yard touchdown strike from Ben Roethlisberger to Heath Miller, to cut the Ravens' lead to 21-14.
Suddenly, we have a ball game again. Baltimore is going to need to steel (no pun intended) their resolve, and their grip on the football, if they want to hang on.
For Pittsburgh, this half couldn't have had a better start. Sure, you punted to start. But you got the points you needed to make this a one-possession game, and make sure that things aren't over yet.

The second half of Ravens vs. Steelers is underway, and Pittsburgh's offense has underwhelmed again.
The Steelers managed to get a first down, thanks to Hines Ward and Heath Miller, but promptly gave up three-yard losses on a completion to Mike Wallace and a sack by Haruki Nakamura.
The Steelers could sure use a major jolt to their offense, as they've struggled to find anything offensively on a consistent basis in this one.
They need to figure it out soon, because time is running out.
