TNA is sending a message.

When Mr. Anderson hoisted the TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt over his head, the messenger pigeons landed squarely on the window sills of a handful of recipients. Those recipients just so happen to be former and current WWE superstars.

The message is loud and clear.

"We'll give you a chance over here."

No one needed a history book or Wikipedia to know that this was Anderson's first ever world title reign. The man who was once pegged to be a future world champion in WWE was now handed the keys to the TNA franchise.

Anderson is not the first guy (nor will he be the last guy) to have failed to reach his destiny as world champion in WWE. Guys like MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Carlito were once labeled as chosen ones.

You can be sure that all three of those guys took note when Anderson defeated Jeff Hardy to capture the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

TNA essentially used Genesis to let those guys know that the door has not been completely shut on them being world champion in this business. It's not going to be handed to them, but the door has been left ajar. The opportunity still exists.

Why not give it one more try?
