BOS 7, TOR 0: Wake shakes it up

Tim Wakefield went 8 strong scoreless innings to help lead the Boston Red Sox past the Toronto Blue Jays 7-0.

Wakefield only allowed three hits and struck out four while walking none.

David Ortiz and Jed Lowrie knocked in two RBI’s each and Kevin Cash added a three-run homer in the eighth to make it 7-0.

Star of the Game:  Wake

Without question that was the kind of starting pitching Boston needed tonight and Wakefield did more than asked for by not walking a single Blue Jay tonight.

Next game:  Sweep the doubleheader

Talk about momentum if the Sox could get that done.
