We've seen Mike Vick doing a lot of things this season, including putting up one of the best games we've ever seen by a quarterback this season. But until recently, we really haven't seen him doing things off the field as well.
A little while ago, he started appearing in a few ads for a Nissan dealership in the South Jersey area. And that was before we found this. This is from one of the local shows produced by the Eagles that airs on local television here in Philadelphia, doing something we haven't seen him do before:
A par-two from the top of a staircase at the NovaCare Complex.
To be honest, Vick has a pretty good swing (he got much more distance off the first hole then I would've) and he ended up winning against long-snapper and special teamer Jon Dorenbos in the final hole, albeit by being the only one to get the ball off the roof.
But Vick showed some pretty good skills there; perhaps he has a future on the PGA Tour. Although I don't know of any holes in the PGA circuit that tee off from the top of a roof.
Philly fans are pretty down over the unceremonious and trophy-less end to the Eagles season last week with the loss to the Packers in the Wild Card Round. But it looks like Vick will be staying in Philly for a while, so Eagles fans have at least raised expectations for next season.
And if he does come back, he’ll be able to defend his golf title. It’s a win-win.
