Seattle Seahawks: Marshawn Lynch Touchdown Run Causes Earthquake

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch tore through half a dozen Saints defenders on his way to a 67-yard touchdown run last Saturday during the NFL Wild Card round.

Qwest Field erupted on that play and it shook the foundation of the stadium—literally.

John Vidale, director for the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, saw a video of the crazed fans shaking during the play and it sparked his interest.

Vidale decided to check a seismic monitoring station 100 yards from the stadium. He found out that the fans' reaction registered seismic activity during Lynch's amazing run. It started with the applause during the play and eventually died down on the kickoff following the score.
